I have been here forty years and jaffa is one of my favorite places. Why? Trendy little shops and galleries. The flea market is no big deal, but there are a few very old shops there with a lot of old trinkets and other brik a brak. I even found a ww2 gas mask and a fifty year old doctors case. Meals can be expensive, but of late places are opening every where to suit everybody's taste. There is even an excellent italian place there. I go for the hoummous although i still say the arabs make the bet hoummous in the world. Something to do with their culture. Make sure the pitta bread is hot !
Summer time on a thursday is the worst as it is very very humid and the locals are out in force, but all in all a wonderful place to visit!
