Day Walking Tour: Tel Aviv Old and New Including the German Colony
Reviewed March 31, 2014

The Tel Aviv Visitor's Guide claims this is one of the hottest and/or coolest attractions in Tel Aviv. The newly restored railway station looks somewhat forlorn amongst a raggle taggle collection of outbuildings containing shops selling overpriced tat, some uninteresting rolling stock, plus the usual restaurants and bars trying desperately to be hip, and failing. To add insult to injury, parking the car in the adjacent car park cost us NIS 16 only to find that we could have parked there for free.

lots of shops
has become very commercialised
long walk to get to it.

Great to walk around and nice atmosphere. Recommend to have a drink at that pub which used to be a train stop and Vicki Christina, they are in my opinion the places worth sitting for a drink (the first) and if hungry to eat at the second (Tapas bar). Nice oasis in the middle of Tel Aviv.

this fully renovated railway station is now housing some of Tel Aviv's nicest boutique shops and restaurants. It's not a big place, so strolling around can end after an hour. You can then dine at the Vika Cristina tapas bar or have wonderful ice cream at Vaniglia.
Another thing worth mentioning is that it's a 3 minutes walking distance from the old-TLV (Neve Zedek), which is charming by itself to stroll around. It's also a just across the Mediterranean if you fancy a swim or a walk on the beautiful sandy beach.

transform the old train station in shopping and eating area. They nicely kept the old train, seats & tracks. Nice shopping. I especially liked the toys shop: all are made in wood and made to tick your brain. There is also on your left hand side of the tracks the Israel Defence Forces History Museum which is huge and interesting. Be prepare to pass security before interring. Behind this shopping area you will find the old Tel Aviv of 1909 worth a stroll.
