Day Walking Tour: Tel Aviv Old and New Including the German Colony

One of my favorite places in Tel Aviv, located conveniently close to Neve Tzedek, Yemenite Quarter and Promenade. Looking equally good in broad daylight and at night. Touristy, yeah. Sometimes crowded. But nice anyway. The greatest plus of HaTachana is a possibility to make a decision when you're already there: coffee and pastry, boutiques and novelty shops, fancy restaurants and stylish bars - everything's handy.

This site is a beautifully renovated train station. Now, the buildings house restaurants, cafes, and upscale shops. At night there are all kind of live performances, last Saturday night there were at least three. Go have a look yourself. You will not be disappointed.

VERY expensive food, for very mediocre food. They try to spin off the interesting location and tourists. Friendly staff but not very cozy and not comfortable setting.

The renovation from a deserted train station that full of garbage and graffiti to one of Tel Aviv's pearl was one of the city major achievements.. we were fascinated by the beautify of the place, you can walk around the stores, eat on a restaurant and even just sit on the bench and enjoy the view. Highly recommend to visit

An historic Turkish train station has been restored and now has shops and restaurants by day and an active night life spot after dark. A German family restored the station and there were many Germans living in the area, Nationalists ( Nazis) who were rounded up and shipped to Australia! Maybe combine with a visit to Jaffa or Neve Tzedek.
