Before going to the Gesher theater in Yafo, our group of six were looking for a quick bite and found a new restaurant just next to the theater at the location where previous the "Poike" restaurant was situated.
The owner invited us inside and told us they opened just 2 days before. After hearing from him the short story of the place (culinary melting pot of East Europe and Arab) we ordered bread, salads, meat balls and smoked fish with tahina.
The bread was a delicious white, rather sweet bread.
The salad (a simple Israeli cucumber, tomatoes and radish mix with olive oil) was hand-chopped in miniscule dices and after tasting we ordered immediately another 2 bowls. The greatest mixed salad we had in years!
The meat balls were tasty but for some of us too red inside. The smoked fish with tahina was superb.
In short, a place definitely worth to come back to.
