Loved The Bun! Good things come in small packages, but this doesn't mean that the amount of food one gets is small. The restaurant is, but it doesn't feel crowded. One can sit outside or at one of two counters within as well as a couple of tables...I prefer sitting at the "chefs' counter" since it is great fun to watch the food being prepared (with expertise). And the taste...sublime. The steamed buns, stamped with The Bun, are airy yet substantial. Reminds me of Momofuko in NY. I had the vegetable root salad with an Asian dressing and bbq ribs with a Korean sauce on a bun. A friend had soup and a noodle/tofu dish. Very inexpensive for such amazing cuisine. The personality of the chef (in our case, Eran) and chef-owners is evident at The Bun...from the food to the atmosphere to the service. Don't miss it!

The Bun is an amazing Asian restaurant. Small and intimate, tastefully designed and gives the best value for money in all of tel aviv's restaurants today. The menu has the freshest salads, perfect steamed buns and authentic Asian soups. The kitchen is open so you can see all the great food the guys are making. Great for easy lunch and even better in the evening. Don't miss it !

The bun is located in the entrance of the Carmel market, and unless someone told you about it ,you might miss it ( and you shouldn't).
It's a small place with not much space and you might feel a little dense, but the service is quite cheerful and warm, so it compensates.
But let's talk about food shall we? The steamed bun burger is absolutely delicious and gives the burger niche a whole new outlook. It's served exactly in the correct temperature (medium) and the meat is delicious.
The reason the Bun gets only 4/5 is the lack of dishes, we would like more options to choose from, which is basically a good thing.
Overall highly recommended.
