This is an incredible treasure and a "must see" museum. Reservations (made a day or two in advance) are required to visit the Museum. It is an experiential history of the Palmach (Striking Forces) that helped to liberate Israel (then Palestine) from the British and to make sure that Israel survived after the United Nations declared it a country and the Arabs tried to destroy the newly formed nation.

The guide takes visitors into different environments that help to recreate the conditions that the Palmach experienced in the Judean desert. The movies recreate what the young forces thought, felt and experienced as they fought to maintain Israel's nationhood.

I cannot say enough about how the "up close and personal" experience helped me to understand and appreciate the amazing valor and superior intelligence of the Palmach forces. Without them, there might not be an Israel today! What struck me was how young the soldiers all were and how being connected to a sense of purpose can enable people to achieve miraculous things.

My wife and I and our two teenage children had a fun time at the Palmach museum. We made reservations in advance for the tour -- in English. The tour imparted much history and the multimedia aspects held our attention throughout. Much recommended.

The Palmach is a museum dedicated to the the men and women who eventually became the Israeli Defense Forces. These were the emigrees who were trained by the British to help fight the Nazis if they had made it to the middle east. It's a fascinating story and the museum features good interactive exhibits

The Palmach Museum in Tel Aviv, Israel is a must see when in Tel Aviv. The museum is more a living museum of the history of the struggle for Israel's Defense Forces. It is not a museum where you walk and read, or walk and view pictures. It is an extremely well done event where you travel through time and actually feel like you are part of history. As you move from room to room, you experience what actually happened. You are right there in the camp while the characters (films on the walls) actually reenact the events which formed the Israel Defense Forces of today. You become emotionally attached and affected by the men and women, who in actuality were simply boys and girls, who lived and died for Israel's right to exist. This museum is a must to see and experience while in Tel Aviv, Israel.

One of our favorite stops on our trip... great experiential space, not a typical museum with artifacts. Wonderful to learn about the War of Independence, from the inside. If you are planning your trip to Israel, be sure to book a reservation for this well in advance. As we were checking in, we saw several families get turned away since it was full.
