“very nice small museum”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

A friend told us this was a favorite museum for her to visit when in Tel Aviv. While I love art, large museums can be overwhelming . Also, as a tourist to Israel, I have a limit to how many museums I can make it through without being overwhelmed. This museum was a perfect respite. It is in a private house on a quiet street. My wife and I rode bikes to the museum. Our experience with the staff was that they were helpful and friendly. He even joked about our bikes. The background exhibit about the artist was interesting. I loved the way there were period photographs matched with many of the paintings. This absolutely helped give me a perspective on what Israel looked like in the early 1900's. This was definitely worth a visit.

“nice, if you are for naive early israeli painting”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

the exhibit now shows photos taken at scenes at approximate time of paintings, which shed an interesting light on the paintings in terms of texture, proportions etc. There are some iconinc paintings of Rubin.

“good nistory of the artist”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

The museum presented a good history of the artist and his time in Palestine. We enjoyed seeing the study where he worked. It was kept as if he were still there

“Excellent Air Conditioner, fine paintings. Dark screens, museum staff is not nice”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

Rubin Museum promises free admission every Tuesday. It did not bother the guard for asking us to pay 20 NIS entrance per guest for entrance. We told him: "The entrance sign says free entry". so the guy tald us with a rude mude: " I forgot it's Tuesday".
We arrived with little twins, and he asked us to to leave the stroller at the entrance, so we had to hold the babies in our hands all time. also when the manager come - they both say that we can not use the Elevator, Indeed, we saw that the door is blocked by frames. so you sould know the there are 3 storey at the Museum. which is not accessible to special needs.
There are some beautiful and impressive paintings of Reuben at the building. All multimedia displays were not working for the fifty minutes we were at the museum. And we were not alone there. But - the air conditioner was excellent. and with tel aviv's summer - this is fine
