“Wonderful walkboard”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2013

The port in north Tel Aviv is a great place to go with all the family, specially on Friday's morning, when a farmer's market take place. The farmers themselves are there selling their wonderful products, like cheeses, special breads, fruits and vegetables, roasted nuts, olive oil producers, etc. All are very friendly and happy to offer you to taste their products. Prices are reasonable. Inside there is also a small market where you can buy all kind of juices, fresh pasta, spices and more, as well as restaurants. But besides these markets, there are many excellent restaurants, stores, coffee shops an most important, the beautiful view of the sea. If you go on Friday, go early, as stores closes around 3 pm.

“Great attraction for couples and for families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 11, 2013

This is one of our preferred places to go in Tel Aviv.
The food market bustles with great food on Fridays, and there is a restaurant for every taste here.
Bikes and tricycles are available for hire - for children and for children at heart (often called grownups).
Parking is less of an issue, compared to other popular sites in Tel Aviv.
This used to be the old port of Tel Aviv, and was left to decay for many years. This negligence is still visible in some places. Although, all in all, the entire area because very, very pleasant in recent years.
Some of the sea front was destroyed 2 or 3 years ago during a winter storm, a reminder to the fierce forces of the sea - but all is now restored, and more.
Don't forget to wear your sunscreen, since some areas are not shaded at all.
Throughout the year there are events in the port - check the local papers and websites, as you might be disappointed to discover you've missed such event while there, because they tend to be very good.

“Walk the board walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2013

Great family outing in the day but evening is just as fun with vendors lining the boardwalk. The night lights change the look and feel of the area so experience it by day and night. Good eateries all around the parameters. Smell the ocean spray as it crashes up on the sea wall and feel it's cool breezes on a hot summer night. Fun.

“Make an evening out of it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2013

The port stretches from southern Tel Aviv and all through Jaffa. Among old stone buildings and pavements you can find restaurants, coffee houses and bars. Great for a romantic evening or an afternoon stroll on the weekend. If you go on Friday or Saturday, you can find stalls selling unique jewelry at the adjacent Old city of Jaffa. In the Jaffa part of the Namal, the coffee shops are quite quaint and you can also find a small, indoor food market there (I'm not sure if its open on weekends). Great seafood restaurants, such as "The Old Man and the Sea" (Ha Zaken ve haYam), an occasional art exhibit by local artists and photographers (usually free entrance). In the Tel Aviv part, the boardwalk is filled with local and tourist "watering holes".
