There is ancient history all around the country, and Tel Aviv shows the modern hard work that the reborn country had to do.

“Inspiring experience may generate tears too”

This "museum", which is the former home of the former mayor of Tel Aviv, was the site of the declaration of independence of the state of Israel in May 14, 1948, in accordance with the UN resolution. You see an adequate film about the selection of the site then move into the hall where independence was declared and hear an amazing docent presentation that steps through the history including May 14th and plays audio tapes from that very day that includes Ben-Gurion's speech and the singing of Hatikva. It is likely you will feel like you were transported back in time to this date, nearly 65 years ago, and experience the same emotions as the people who packed the hall. Bring some Kleenex.

“Very informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

I am so pleased to say that I love the concept, location and general purpose of this museum. Its great for tourists and locals alike to learn about the history of the country and the ongoing struggle, and the location provides for history in and of itself: situated in the Bauhaus area on Rothschild near all the interesting side streets, it provides the beginning of a great day in Tel Aviv for all!!!- ISRAEL UNLIMITED

“Guides are inspiring and knowledgeable”

This is an appropriate place to begin your tour of Israel. The introductory movie is informative. My children learned how the State of Israel was established in 1948. It is a small museum but a very important one.

An amazing museum where the guide's passion for this exhibition created an emotional response to the importance of this place.
The guide was amazing, the short video was also informative.
This is a museum not to be missed.
