A center for seniors knowledge, small museums for different subjects and a great museum shop to find local presents.

I suppose there is something for everyone; you just have to find it. Be prepared for walks between buildings; ask for a thorough explanation of what exhibits are where so you can see that which will interests you; not everything will. Be strategic or just let it go and discover whatever until you either get too hot or museumed out. i got both.

If you want to see Israel culture and history of the land, this is a very nice museum to visit. Plan to spend at least 4 hours there and plan to visit all of the building. You can see coins from the early ages to glass art from today. It is worth the time and the walking.

Physically, this is a massive museum; contextually, it is equally as big. The topics of this museum come from all realms of Israel's history, from the ancient to the modern, and multidisciplinary way that these topics are covered really makes this museum. Rather than just a collection of photos on walls or a looping video, visitors of this museum find themselves immersed in archeology, ethnography, and folklore of the nation. A visitor isn't just being read to or reading to themselves; they are living the history, thereby becoming a bit of a part of it.

While there are some indoor exhibits, there is a ton outdoors, so it would be best to wear comfy shoes and bring plenty to drink, especially if visiting in the summer months. Don't be afraid to scope out the grounds before a visit; there is so much to see that it wouldn't hurt to have an itinerary for this attraction, nor would it hurt to know what temporary exhibits there are before arriving.

I really liked this mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits. The pavilions are nice and cool and I especially recommend the ones dealing with folklore, Baron Rothchild, and work. There was a fantastic exhibition of nature photography when we were visiting.
