How appropriate to have an art museum that is a piece of art.
The museum shares a a plaza with the Israeli Opera and a major theater group. The site resented an architectural challenge because the footprint was limited and there may have been height restrictions. the architect finessed the situation by having the part of the museum below the Plaza level much larger than that abovel. The shapes of the building components are wonderful and a contrast with the old museum building which is still used for exhibitions.
Art is a matter of taste, and while some pieces may be distracting others are grand.
