“Great Location...... Easy Access To Beach!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2014

I would recommend this hotel for a stay in Tel Aviv. Close to beach, restaurants, shops. Very friendly and helpful staff very clean. The lobby is spacious and nicely decorated, the rooms are nicely done. The included breakfast had a nice assortment and the coffees and fresh juices where great. Rooms a bit small but adequate, beds are comfortable. I would stay at this hotel again!

I would recommend the Maxim for a stay in Tel Aviv. A short stroll to beach front you are close to excellent restaurants and shops. There is a pleasant roof top for those lovely warm nights. Very helpful and friendly staff. Very clean. The rooms are a little small but very adequate. Great three start as previous reports better a good three star than a poor 4 star. I would return and stay again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front a little noisy with open windows but not really an issue.

We spent a lot of time looking for somewhere to stay in Tel Aviv, and there are many options! We were very happy that we ended up at the Maxim. The location is great, right across from the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants. The staff were wonderful, helpful, and had a great sense of humor. The included breakfast really makes it worth staying here. There was a great assortment of food and good coffee. The rooms are small but you don't need them for much more than sleeping. Tel Aviv is such an exciting city, get out of your room and go enjoy it!

I spend a lot of time looking for a place to stay for 3 nights in Tel Aviv. All hotels looked shabby and expensive. We do not like big hotels especially during breakfast time. This place was just perfect for us. Rooms are small, it's a fact. But we just slept there. We spent most of the time on the beach and walking around. We never went to bed before midnight. You don't go to Tel Aviv to sleep ;) We took bus number 10 (just around the corner is the bus stop on Ben Yehuda Street) to go to Jaffa Old Town. 20 minutes walking to Carmel Market. Lots of bars and restaurants on the way. Taxi from/to airport is 150 NIS. Convenience store with bags of ice for 15 NIS is next door. Don't bother to ask at the reception for it. And if you like coffee you better have some green or mint tea for breakfast. Good coffee is just around the corner on Ben Yehuda Street.

Hey, two blocks from a great Irish bar, 4.7 minute walk to super Italian restaurant, good Mexican restaurant around the corner, one block from shopping street and public transportation, beach within shouting distance. Smack in the center of typical Israeli nightlife. Oh, did I mention clean rooms, excellent service staff, all the small-hotel amenities and towels too fluffy to get into my suitcase? Love this place....wouldn't consider any other.

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view room if available. Great sunsets.

Most reviews of the Maxim glow with compliments. We found this hotel to be adequate, but disappointing in a number of ways. Hotels in Tel Aviv are expensive, and the Maxim is less costly than others we have stayed at. Some might say that you get what you pay for.

Although we had a “deluxe” room with an ocean view, the room was tiny. There was shelving in the closet, but no drawer space, and we had to rearrange the furniture to accommodate our suitcases. Although the room was adequately clean, the black and gray shag area rug was a useless ornament, and it did not seem clean; I wished it would disappear. The bathroom was small with little horizontal space for toiletries. The towels were almost institutional in quality.

Breakfast was satisfactory but below the standard at other hotels where we have stayed in Tel Aviv. Again, some might say that you get what you pay for….

Trying to get ice was comical. They seemed to have to send next door to the Lusky Suites; they were not pleased with my request, and they offered me only a few ice cubes. Seems unbelievable that ice isn’t available.

The wifi worked fine and was free, as usual in Israeli hotels, except the most expensive ones.

The staff tries hard to please. We liked Sayed – sorry if I am spelling his name incorrectly. He was funny and helpful and professional. The woman who cleaned the rooms on the third floor was friendly.

I guess that the Maxim is a satisfactory hotel in its price range, but I don’t plan on returning. I’d rather pay the extra shekels for a nicer hotel with less cramped rooms.
