“Excellent Choice!”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Booked 3 nights, Arrived from Ben Gurion Airport by taxi (138NIS, excellent value, as missed last train on Friday afternoon) short Q at reception, staff pleasant, after formalities, took lift to 10th floor, room over looking North Tel Aviv, power plant and airport (SDV), but could also see the sea. Room was OK, TV was ok, on holiday,, not here to watch TV, but English language channel selection was adequate. No noise from other guests (rooms or corridor) Wi-fi - excellent, no problems. Breakfast, extremely LARGE choice, salads, cereals, hot plate. fresh juices and Tea & Coffee, no cold meats thou (that was strange). Room had a safe, which was easy to operate and aircon / heating with manual controls. Outside, good location for beach and access to city centre. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floor, the better!

Two weeks ago we my partner and I stayed in the Grand beach hotel in Tel Aviv. The location of the hotel is fantastic, located on the Yarkon street over looking to the sea. Just cross the road and walk for 300 meter to the beach.
Or turn to the other side and you will be in the hub of tel aviv restaurants, pubs small coffee shops and the long shopping street named - Dizingof street.

The hotel has a very small pool on the roof, nothing special. The rooms are very basic and boring, the complimentary coffee and tea are poor. The breakfast though was nice: lots of choice of cheese and bread, fresh made omelettes and great salads.

The lobby is very basic and if you order food to the lobby- (we had guests for coffee and small lunch), don't expect for anything special. We had to look for someone to order the food and when eventually it arrived it was tasteless but big portions. The pizza and pasta were tasteless and when we asked for herbs to add on top we were told that they did not have any, strange.
The T.V in the room is small and old style, it had two movies channel that played the same movies in different times. The Internet area was not nice, one machine did not work and the other had a problematic key board.
For 2 nights we paid 300 dollars, a bit pricy considering that we visited off season- middle of November.
Overall, basic hotel, good location. Good for staying in for short time and be out all day and evening.

Room Tip: Ask to have the sea view and top floor.

I have just returned from a stay in the grand beach hotel. I was pleasantly surprised having read a lot of poor reviews , we had a room on the 10th floor with a sea view which was very nice, The location is excellent the staff were very friendly the breakfast was good , if you do go make sure you get a room on the 10th floor or higher ask for a Seaview and a newly decorated room , for the money it is very good there are a lot nicer hotels but not in this price bracket

It starts on arrival and at the front desk, the lady that attended to us ( no name badge) was sour and not friendly, brought me back to memories of the unfriendliness staff of the Communist East European countries.
The room was dirty and the carpets shabby and stained.
I booked through booking.com at the rate of $ 175 a night, they charged me with VAT, I have a strong feeling that the VAT they collect from foreigners (dual citizenship) is not reported to the authorities. I asked for the hotel manager, he too was not helpful, conversely he insisted that we pay for 5 days in advance. They gave us the feeling that we, the guests are there to serve them.

We definitely do not, repeat do not recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel, unfriendly management and staff, 1970'S East European atmosphere and treatment...

Hotel was average, spent just one night. Buffet was excellent. Close to the Port, so the walk along the port was very refreshing. Staff was polite, trying to change money was very trying, but finally got directions to a Change Boot.

Firstly Tel Aviv Hotels are totally over priced.
I arrived at 4pm on Shabat, the receptionist could not find my reservation despite me showing it to him on my phone, he fluffed and flaffed around for about 10 minutes, answered guest queries and then another receptionist started the process all over again and found the reservation which he told me had been cancelled a few days before. I asked why it was cancelled he said they tried to debit my credit card and could not, why they tried I don't know as it was given purely as a guarantee. He found me a room for 2 nights of the 3 I had booked, no apologies. The whole process took about 20 minutes.
The room was tiny but clean, the bathroom had been re vamped but not very well (The original shower in the bath was replaced by a hand held devise, the original unit is still there but not working)
There is fee wi fi but not very good.
The Breakfast buffet is fairly good the staff float around like ghosts don't bother to ask them for anything they are only there to socialise with their colleagues.
All in all the Hotel is very tired and the staff have no interest, service is non existent.
Location is good near the New Port, Independence Park and nice beaches.
To add insult to injury I asked if I could keep the room for an hour later than check out the answer was "NO" not "no sorry we are full" just plane NO

Room Tip: Choose another Hotel :) If you must choose a Hotel on the top floor

Small but comfortable quarters...amazing breakfast buffets...wonderful rooftop pool...close to beach and many, many great restaurants at the Port. One Gentleman on the Reception staff gave excellent service while others were 'so-so'. Close to Dizengoff St. & Ben Yehuda St. Off-site laundry service more reasonable than that of the hotel's.
