Grand Beach Hotel

This hotel is located right on Tel Aviv beach just a short distance from the beach. The front desk is pleasant and fairly helpful but there was no concierge to help you figure out what to do. The bar area was spacious but closed early. The elevators are tiny and if there is a big group checkin could be problematic. Breakfast was fantastic with fresh squeezed orange juice and made to order omelets. Stay busy cos there was limited tv, I would stay there again.

This is the place I go when I am in Tel Aviv for business, and the main reason for me doing so is the location of this hotel, a 5 mins walk from the TA Port area with nice shops and restaurants. I also enjoy the morning jog along the Marina and you can easily walk all the way to the Old City of Yafa. Comes to the hotel, it is really nothing special, the building in not new and needs some refreshment, the rooms are basic, the breakfast buffet nothing really special, and there is a general feeling of "dustiness" around the building. Cleaning: room for improvement. On the bright side, a decent value for money (considering the price level in Tel Aviv).

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights while participating in a seminar. The hotel was chosen by the sponsoring organization. The location is good - across the street from the beach and an easy walk to the Port of Tel Aviv where there are lots of shops and restaurants. The room and bathroom were small by American standards, but the bed was comfortable and everything was clean and modern. Breakfast was included and there is a lot to choose from on the buffet. There is a made-to-order omelette station, and they do waffles as well. There is a small pool on the hotel's rooftop. I wasn't a fan of the fake grass landscape around it.

Service at the hotel is just OK. Our room did not get cleaned one day and it took several complaints to have it done. We had to ask for extra towels every day. The elevators are very small and the hotel accommodates big groups so there is often a wait when groups are checking in. Also, one of the three elevators was out of service when we got there and it took three days for it to be fixed.

There are much nicer hotels in Tel Aviv and I would not stay here again, but if you are on a budget, this is a place you should consider.

We stayed at the Grand Beach last summer. It's a really nice hotel situated one block from all the action - restaurants, shops, night life - and a short walk to the Tel Aviv Port, the main entertainment center. Our room was spacious and clean. The staff was great, even giving us a discount card for the nearby well-known French restaurant. It would be a perfect hotel if it was right on the beach, but it's just across the street. The price was excellent for what we received.

Room Tip: Check discount offers in the newspaper.

Refurbished hotel in a great location but not enough to be crowned "Grand". Public spaces are very uninviting and although rooms are modern and the inclusive breakfast buffet well-stocked, the hotel could do better to earn 4 stars. Still, hotels in TA are generally overpriced and this hotel was as low-cost as you can find. So if you can overcome the Grand title...you may appreciate what it realistically offs it's guests for a fair price.

We visited this hotel at the end of September, 2011. Hotel is nice, although I would rather give fair three stars instead of four. An important tip - do not stay at this hotel during Jewish New Year. There are a lot of people coming from inside the country to celebrate, the hotel is overbooked and Israeli families with a lot of small children (2-4 per family) can be very loud and even annoying. We have been served our meals outside of restaurant for several days and we found it difficult to sleep on some nights.

Pros:
- tasty and abundant meals (which is important in Israel)
- clean rooms
- great location near the beach
- great pool on the roof

Contras:
- only two computers to use which are constantly occupied (hotel needs more of them)
- no slippers, shampoo and other extras one could expect from a 4 star hotel
- the hotel should have warned us NOT to come during Jewish NY
