I stayed in a private room, and it seemed clean, except for the dusty areas and bugginess.

The shower in the bathroom, should really have a "border" so as to keep the water from getting into the toilet area. It's rather difficult to mop/push the water that gathers around the toilet back into the drain.

The room was located on the ground floor level. Definitely avoid the G FL!! It's ridiculously noisy during the entire day, and night. I did not get much rest there.

There are no windows that open out to either of the streets. The windows faced into the inner court which was mainly for maintenance and trash disposal.

The staff was okay. They were not friendly. They only helped with things not related to the stay at their hostel.

The place is well kept. Staff tries hard to please people. One block to the beach and ocean. Busses are around the corner. Large kitchen. Clean. what more can I ask for? I always meet very interesting nice people there. I've been there a number of times and always enjoy myself there.

Room Tip: No special preference for rooms

There is no denying the importance of the location here. Just a block away from the beach and about 10 mins walk in either direction and you avoid Allenby, you will find yourself in some of the best neighborhoods of Tel Aviv (Florentine, Dziengoff, Rothschild, Carmel Market, Bauhaus Center). You have to remember you aren't booking a hotel this is a hostel sometimes roommates are good other times not so much. The staff here may seem abrasive at first but they're really nice and are willing to help you find some fun places to go. The large common area and kitchen are one of the main attractions to this hostel with plenty of room to make something quick and easy or more elaborate. The other advantage to this is there are always plenty of people around speaking languages from all over. They offer other services like laundry and computer use and you can hang out in the lobby and drink a beer. Again even if you're not into the community aspects it's a cheap bed and the perfect jumping off point for any night out or day trip in Tel Aviv.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, cheap beer, hot showers, community atmosphere - what else do you want in a Hostel?

I stayed here with some friends while visiting Tel Aviv for a night out. Despite making a reservation in advance, we arrived to find out that they had not actually reserved any beds for our party. (Side note - the hostel seems to have the *ridiculous* policy that each morning, any guest can extend his/her stay without prior notice, so the hostel won't know how many beds are available until checkout...thus they can't guarantee reservations) They informed us that the only beds available were mattresses on the roof, which we regrettably accepted. The hostel is too large for its own good. The mattresses on the roof were damp and it was so noisy (right under the flight path of landing jets at nearby Ben-Gurion airport) that sleep was impossible. Before long, the sun arose and baked everyone on the roof. The bathrooms were dirty from overuse and the breakfast was terrible - stale rye bread with jam or butter. The price charged for this (60NIS) was outrageous. Subsequently, some friends of mine stayed here again a few weeks later, and they contracted bedbugs, which, despite precautions they took, plagued them for weeks after leaving. Overall I would never recommend this hostel.
