“A very pleasant stay.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

My wife and I spent a week in August at the Sheraton. We booked an ocean view room, and were upgraded to a tower floor. The room was large and comfortable, with wonderful views over the sea. Unfortunately, the bathroom is tiny, and two people have trouble fitting in, letting alone using it at the same time. Apparently, this is true of all rooms other than the suites. Otherwise the room was kept clean and the a/c, tv, wifi and lights worked very well. The Juliet balcony allowed someone to stand outside, but there is no room for furniture or even to take a chair outside and sit.

The breakfasts were large and varied. Omelets, eggs and waffles were made to order, and the usual Israeli breakfast choices were there, including some I have never seen before. The automatic expresso/capuccino maker was fun.

The pool was attractive, but the pool and deck got crowded in the afternoon. Children were the major users of the pool, and it would have been preferable if someone at the Sheraton had enforced the posted rules against jumping. We used the pool one morning and it was a much more relaxing experience.

The best part about the hotel was the service. From the front desk to the bell staff, to the restaurant and bar staff and to housekeeping, everyone was there to help and serve. This level of service and competence is sometimes hard to find in Israel, but the Sheraton organization had it down pat. A true pleasure, and I would definitely recommend the hotel for that reason.

Amazing! A must stay in Tel Aviv for business and family travelers. I was there in August 3013 for 7 nights. I stayed on the 7th floor with access to the club. Also visited many tines the 18th floor club and enjoyed some of the best breakfasts and afternoon snacks. The rooms were very nice, great view, we were all treated with the highest respect I have ever felt.

Tel Aviv is a very safe city, one I would recommend to any family with any age children. This hotel caters to all, from the nicely appointed spa to the beautiful pool and gorgeous beach across the street.

If your going, this is the place to stay!

Enjoy!

Room Tip: I really dont think there is a bad room in the place. The higher floors ofer bettew views.

On Aug 2. we stayed for 6 nights at the Sheraton it Tel Aviv.

Positives

1. Other than a bit of noise from the pool in the day time and the odd car honk day and night, the room was very quiet with the AC drowning out pretty much everything.
2. The bed was a good size and the room was spacious with coffee maker, free water bottles, etc etc....overall very nice
3. The pool was warm and a good size and we could pretty much get chairs every day. Meals are very good at pool and most days, service was quick and efficient
4. Location is central
5. Breakfasts are outstanding
6. Some of the front desk staff were very good - see comment below

Negatives

1. Didn't like paying for WIFI in the room but got over that pretty quickly and took it anyways
2. Not a fault of the hotel but pool area was packed with noisy, boisterous families and sometimes it felt like I was in a daycare
3. I felt that some of the front desk staff couldn't really advise us well on restaurants and sites to visit

Comment

Every so often in the hospitality industry, you get served by someone who is "off the charts" in their competence, demeanor, communication skills and passion for serving customers. In 15 days in Israel we met such a person at the Sheraton, Miki Erez. She advised us on just about everything, greeted us always with a smile and a "how are you" no matter where in the hotel we ran into her. She is the "best of the best" and we so much appreciate her AND the Sheraton Hotel for having her on staff

Bottom Line: we would return to the Sheraton in a hearbeat and would not even waste out time investigating other hotels

Room Tip: We took a room at end of hall facing the pool, road and beach. It was not the tower room that everyo...

Dear Garthfromcanada:
Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions of your stay at the Sheraton Tel Aviv. We pride ourselves in the friendliness of our staff and our service we are able to offer our guests. We will definitely pass on your kind compliments to Miki Erez. We are proud to have her on our team. Great you enjoyed our buffet breakfast. Our Chef is always keen of presenting the best Israeli products on the buffet.
The Wifi charge is $20 for 24 hours, however, it is complimentary for the guests who are in the Club and Towers section of hotel. We would like to share some exciting news - by end of October we will be upgrading 4 guestroom floors as well as extending our executive lounge to make your stay even better with us.
Thank you for staying with us and we hope to see you in the near future.

Being a regular guest at Starwood Hotels, taking this night alone over 500 nights for work in the Starwood chain across Europe, at the beginning of August I decided to make a personal stay at the Sheraton Tel Aviv for 4 days in a Club Room, having previously stayed at comparative hotels (The Renaissance opposite, The Dan Panorama in South Tel Aviv and seeing The Hilton before).

POSITIVE POINTS:
- The location is great if you like being central on the promenade as you can walk either right up to The Namal (The Port) in 20 minutes) or down to South Tel Aviv in 20 minutes, or even in to Ben Yehuda / Dizengoff etc again in 20 minutes, so a good central location.

- The outdoor pool is great and being midsummer still had always plenty of sunbeds free at anytime of day.

- The poolside bar is also reasonably priced for a High standard hotel in Tel Aviv.

- My room was always clean, the lobby was stylish and I found the staff really pleasant and friendly, as well as reliable - one day I came back to my room to find my complementary water had not been re-stocked and was about to call down to the lobby to enquire when a member of the cleaning staff knocked at my room and apologised. Afterwards, I presume it was her manager, then came and checked it had been delivered. Excellent staff!

NEGATIVE POINTS:
- Wifi price: Most the European Starwood hotels now offer free Wifi (Sheraton, Westin, A-Loft etc), so whilst my room had free wifi included, I can understand for the normal room how annoying this must be as 20USD for 24 hours is ridiculous in current times, especially as so many places in Israel have free wifi.

- Room style: I was actually disappointed in the Club rooms as found my room not just quite small (I guess being an old property) but in fact the design seemed really old fashioned (having stayed in the last 12 months in the Sheraton Bratislava, Sheraton Brussels, A-Loft Brussels, Sheraton Porto and next week in The Westin, Valencia). Work clients at the Sheraton Bratislava told me there hotel was the first to have the "new design" Starwood Sheraton look, but I really think Sheraton Tel Aviv should look at modernising the rooms, especially paying for a club room, not even the basic standard room. This was my biggest fault of the hotel, just that it is so high priced in summer and yet doesn't hit the Sheraton 5* standard of room style.

- Club Lounge : Whilst this is nice, compared to a lot of hotels breakfast is pretty basic in the lounge, so not necessarily worth the extra money then just taking a standard room with breakfast included in the main restaurant.

Overall a nice standard hotel to stay in but I would say not worth paying extra or the high price for say a mid-level upgrade, compared to taking probably a standard room.

Room Tip: If you don't mind paying take a Tower Room as even a mid-level upgrade to club room isn't th...

This property could easily be a Westin or better. The owners go over the top for being a Sheraton. Located on the Sea, the hotel is fairly small compared to the massive Hilton and offers a full range of services.

The rooms are decent, most with a view. Great shower and perhaps over firm pillows. GM Jean-Louis Ripoche had a nice bottle of wine and fresh fruit in the room. Small balconies overlook the sea, standing only.

The highlight is the daily breakfast buffet. Set in a gorgeous room overlooking the sea, it is huge yet private enough to enjoy. I counted 12 cereal selections, 20 dried and fresh fruit selections, huge variety of breads and cheeses. House smoked salmon, egg station, oodles of fresh pastries and espresso machines. OJ is fresh and amazing.

We dined at Olive Tree, known for their steak however the sea bass is better. Good but slow service and slow kitchen. You are within walking distance of many great beach restaurants.

Nice bar and lounge. Small pool with lots of kids so swim early. OK fitness studio, friendly assistants. There is a spa not affiliated with the hotel that is very nice however short hours.

Only complaint: Slow elevators. If you are SPG, two lounges, both good. Overall great place to stay in Tel Aviv, an hour from Jerusalem and half hour from the airport.

Room Tip: Higher up floors assure you get on the elevator going down. 9th floor or higher.
