“Excellent beachfront hotel in Tel Aviv”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2012

The Sheraton Tel Aviv enjoys an excellent location in front of the beach and a couple of blocks from Dizengoff street with its many shops and cafes. The hotel is indeed a bit dated, but most area hotels look the same. Check-in staff were very friendly and professional. Was upgraded to an oceanfront room with a fantastic view of the ocean and the beautiful beaches of Tel Aviv. The room was on the smaller side but comfortable enough. Breakfast buffet was excellent and had great views from the breakfast room to the beach. Great hotel, would definitely stay here again when visiting Tel Aviv in the future.

Maybe it's because I'm used to hostels and guest houses, but when staying at the Sheraton I felt like a princess. I loved that there was a floor where authorized guests are allowed to mix cocktails and snacks throughout the day.

Steps from the beach - which is AMAZING.

The poshest hotel at which I've ever stayed.

The Sheraton Tel Aviv is a little dated, but overall a great choice when staying in Tel Aviv. It is right alongside the beach and just a couple of blocks from Dizengoff Street. The staff are very polite, courteous and helpful. The rooms can use a little modernization, but overall the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The breakfast was superb and offers all the choices that all the top hotels in Israel offer ..... egg station, lots of fruit, cheeses, breads, vegetables, fishes, juices, yogurts, etc, etc. The hotel manager was very friendly. They provide towels if you want to go to the beach. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend this hotel.

A hotel with charges 20 USD per day for in room internet access rates poor in my view, regardless of the cookies and shapoos in the room. Yes, wifi is available free of charge in the lobby, but one does not compensate for the other. Lovely expresso machine in the room. Would be even nicer if someone bothered to put water in rather than leave it empty. The ocean view is nice, but one cannot sleep withnopen windows, given the noise. So ok for aircon lovers, less so for the others.

Dear MichaelW:
Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to post your comments.
The $20 charge for WiFi is a common practice in most hotels in Tel Aviv. We continue to upgrade our network so that our valued guests will get optimized Wifi connection in the hotel. Starwood is supporting complimentary Wifi benefits for guests who have reached a certain Starwood preferred guest membership level.
We thank you for your comments and look forward to welcoming you back to the Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel & Towers.

We arrived at the Sheraton Tel Aviv at 3:00 AM - they welcomed us, checked us in quickly, parked our car, and gave us an upgrade because we were Starwood SPG Gold members. (You automatically become an SPG Gold member if you have an American Express SPG card - definitely worth it - we stayed at the hotel on Starwood points). The room had a great view, a lovely balcony, and it was small but comfortable. SPG gold members can choose between extra SPG points and free wifi for as many machines as you care to connect. Breakfast was the classic Israeli buffet, salad, fish, eggs, bread, good coffee and free. The shower was fine, the bed comfortable, the flat screen TV had a zillion channels many of which were in English, there were fluffy bathrobes and a Nespresso coffee machine. The hotel had a spa which was closed on Saturday, and the swimming pool was being repaired - but had we wanted to swim we could have gone elsewhere. The staff was universally friendly and helpful, and the room was immaculate. The esthetics of the lobby and public areas were pleasing. A fine place.

Room Tip: Try to get a high room with a beach view.

I had a really nice time at this hotel. the staff were exceptionally nice. The spa overcharges for product though. don't buy anything there, they same stuff is at duty free for a fraction of the price.

Room Tip: some rooms have very nice views

Arrived to our room and released a huge sigh of relief. We were well received in the lobby and checkin was quick. Upon getting to our room, we put on the light and ran to the balcony and there was the beach. Beautiful sea air, a magnificent room that was updated, clean and comfortable. The highlight of the room was the bed. Best sleep we had in a long time. Changed clothes and were quite impressed with the location of the hotel. Convenient to great restaurants, long walks along the beach, an outstanding nightlife and shopping.
Then, as if the bed wasn't enough, the breakfast was heaven sent. Having been a vegan for many years, i broke down and had cheese. i didn't regret one bite. the breads were fresh, the fruit had flavor that exploded in your mouth, the presentation and cleanliness of the various buffet stations was refreshing. I could have stayed all day. As it was, i made breakfast my main meal of the day, snacked at nearby restaurants on the beach that screamed romance, great energy and tantalized all your senses. Dinner was always suggested by the staff and never a disappointment.
While we were there, the pool was being worked on but who wants a pool when you can go to a beautiful, clean beach with great waves and do all the peoople watching you want.
The shuk (market) is walking distance away and the aroma's were mouth watering. Walk to nearby yafo or hang out at the beach. You can relax or be as active as you want. Have an ice cream on the beach or visit the nearby outdoor cafe's. It's all here.
Our flight was 1am so we asked for a late checkout, they were so sweet and offered us a hospitality suite or use of the spa.
Leaving was so hard to do. We could have stayed a month without regret.

Room Tip: ask for a view of the beach. try sleeping with the window open and smell the night air and listen to...
