“Good location, much better than it's neighbor”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

I spent one night at the Sheraton Tel Aviv with my girlfriend after redeeming 12k SPG points. At that price, it's somewhat expensive vs. other hotels I've stayed at for similar SPG point costs. Still, it was a great break from the Rennaisance Tel Aviv where we stayed for 5 nights. The Sheraton has decent room service, a nice rooftop pool, a good beachside location, and very comfortable rooms. The SPG floor room I stayed in was well kept, newly renovated, and had a very good bed. All in all, it was a pleasant change from the tour group's usual hotels. Late check out was not a problem (since I have SPG status) which is always good. Managed to get a sea-side facing room, with a great view.

If the hotel wasn't so expensive it would have been excellent. The staff are all very helpful, it's clean & has an excellent location BUT the décor is extremely dated, like from the 80's! It should NOT be charging $20 a day for wifi, it should be free in your room at those prices & the breakfast buffet was not that great (order it to your room for a small charge & it's so much better). But, it has a pool & is right on the beach so it depends what you're looking for.

Dear Maybz:
Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to post your comments.
We are pleased to hear that our staff were helpful, and you enjoyed the hotel’s location. Most of the rooms in the hotel have been newly renovated and we are constantly investing to upgrade our product.
We apologize that the breakfast buffet was not that great. Be assured that we have taken the matter up with our Chef and F&B Manager and the necessary remedial action has been taken.

Thank you again for your comments and hope to see you soon.
With kind regards,

The Tel Aviv Sheraton is moreorless in the centre of the wonderful Tel Aviv sea promenade. It has the usual comforts that one might expect from the Sheraton chain. Pluses include a really good breakfast selection (having been to other hotels in the area for business breakfasts, it was definitely the best) and a fresh water pool. The minuses include rather out-dated room furnishings (not the bathroom which was fine), and a lack of anything green around the pool area to break up the concrete. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about the fact that it basically sits on a traffic island between 2 busy roads - and crossing over to the beach and promenade is fairly difficult.

Room Tip: The higher the better (go for the Towers) - and make sure you get a genuine sea view.

I've stayed at this hotel about 10 times and tried to book it this holiday, but it was fully booked and we had to stay at the Hilton instead. However we went to the Sheraton pool as it is fresh water (not sea water - an allergy requirement) and spent the afternoon there. The staff were great and the food was tasty, and delivered quickly. I even bumped into the general manager at the pool area, which was good to see (you'd never see the Hilton GM anywhere near a guest!). The price for the pool is $25 per person if you're not staying at the hotel. It would have been nice as an SPG platinum to have been offered free access, but alas it isn't the hotel's policy (even on occasions where returning guests try and book a room, but there is no availability), and I understand that. As I've stayed in the hotel on multiple occasions in 2012, I can recommend trying to get a Jaffa-facing room on as high floor as possible. If going in winter months when it is particularly windy, be mindful that the sealing on the windows is not perfect and there can be a whistling noise, particularly if facing right on to the sea (rather than a side view). If you're SPG, you get access to the very nice 18th floor lounge and can check-in there too. The front desk staff (led by M. Henri Levy) are very helpful and polite. The location of the hotel is perfect.

The Sheraton Tel Aviv is a fantastic hotel in the heart of the city. The room and bathroom were quite nice and extremely cared for. The Nespresso machine and nightly turn-down service were also plusses. However, the most notable feature of the room was the balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Finally, the bountiful breakfast buffet was incredible and offered omelets, meats, cheeses, salads, fruits and juices. If you're going to Tel Aviv and your pocketbook can support it, stay here!

Hi everyone, I am not sure about everyone's country but according to Australian standards this was not a 5 star hotel... It was really average. I went there for my honeymoon (thankfully we moved onto a stunning hotel in eilat) and the place was far from romantic. The lift was from the 80s and I thought I was going to get stuck and the hotel was in urgent need of renovations. It was not terrible but the rooms were not sterile clean and there were lots of marks on the wall... I would give it a 3 star so price should reflect this and it did not. I probably would not recommend this hotel. Regards

I had two separate stays here, both pleasant. My first room was on the 6th floor with a side view of the beachfront. It's a very easy walk across the street to the beach itself and myriad restaurants. The room was quite nice. The shower nozzle was broken, but housekeeping sent someone up promotly to fix it and fix it he did. When I returned to the hotel about a week later I was given a beautiful room on the 3rd floor with a delightful full view of the beach and ocean from huge picture windows and a nice little balcony. All in all a pleasant stay. I would choose the Sheraton again if I return to Tel Aviv.
