“Intimate relaxing luxury getaway with my husband”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I live in Jerusalem with six kids a dog and a husband. My husband and I both wok full time. We are middle of the road kind of people with the middle of the road kind of finacial lifestyle. Nothing outrageous for us. As my husband approached the big 50; fiftieth year of his life; I wanted to celebrate and do something special. I searched the internet for a week. A year ago we went to the Dan Tel-Aviv and I wanted something different this time. I was all over the country in my search. From the Golan to Elait to Beresheet Hotel in Mitspe Ramon. We don't have a car at the moment so getting there was also an issue. In the end all roads lead to Tel-Aviv and something pulled me back to the Dan. Last year I joined the e-dan club on line. Which I highly recommend. They upgrade you at check-in. We received a beautiful suite with a sea view. A huge luxurious bathroom. I told them it was for my husbands fiftieth birthday. There was complementary champagne on ice in the room with a fresh cake and fruits and a sweet Mazal Tov note. We had dinner and breakfast in the dining room. All the food is gourmet. The presentation of fresh abundant salads and the stylized desserts is a sensation for the eyes and even more delicious in the mouth. The hotel is intimate and quiet. Perfect for a romatic getaway. They have years of experience in customer relations. I think every Israeli couple should try the Dan Tel-Aviv before they go anywhere else. We will definitely be back again. Everything was perfect.

Room Tip: join the e-dan online club for free and they will upgrade you upon arrival

Dear Joanne G,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post about your experiences; feedback such as this just makes everything we do all worthwhile.
We're delighted you enjoyed the (utterly deserved) complimentary upgrade to the suite; we certainly try to upgrade our guests when we can, especially e-dan members.
Our number one goal is to ensure the satisfaction of our guests; therefore, it is wonderful to learn that you were happy with the service of our staff and the food of our restaurant and your whole stay in general.
Wishing your husband a very many happy returns - and many happy returns back to us too.

Great location, excellent service, nice rooms (although it would be nice if they were bigger), amazing breakfast and good lunch.
Actually the breakfast is one of the best in Israel.
If you want an omelet or cappuccino, don't hesitate to ask the staff.
The gym and the swimming pool are quite good too.

Let's start off with the room. Very clean, very comfortable, and a great cleaning staff that kept it sorted. They were trustworthy, as well; I accidentally left out money and a camera phone. I returned to the phone being neatly aligned, with the coins stacked in monetary order next to it. Nothing missing. The beds were great; it's been a long time since I've slept so soundly in a hotel.
In the lounge, there is a complimentary happy hour with world class snacks (hot and cold dishes, both innovative and simple), excellent drinks, and a comfortable area to sit and talk. It really had a nice, all around feel to it.

Rooms were fairly recently remodeled. They have a fairly modern motif so not for everyone but it was fine by me. The shower was open to the sleeping area via a large window. The window did have built in shudders but it was a tad strange.

Also, the shower was a little ackward since only 1/3 of the shower is enclosed...so a little water did make its way out.

TV and Phone bathroom was a little funny too. Given all that the room was great. Location was nice. Service was as good over all. Some minor glitches with bell hop etc..but for Israel this was some of the best service to be had.

Breakfast was a great Israeli buffet and lunch buffet was also great. I would pass on the Hotel Resturant. Expensive...decent tasting but you will probably be dining alone as well. Desert was really below average. The portions are also very small.

Room Tip: May want a higher level and ask for ocean view.

Location of this hotel is really great - beach is just bellow hotel and walking is excellent experience. Hotel is nice, breakfast is very rich and everyone can find something for themselves. Only part that should be taken into consideration is that rooms need small update.

We stayed in the Dan Tel Aviv Hotel in January for two nights. The hotel has a spectacular lobby and the room was nice, clean and quite spacious, with a great view out on the beach. Weather was rainy and extremely windy so we didn't get out too much, although when we did we discovered the hotel is centrally located so if you are willing to walk you can get around on foot. The restuarant Raphael, which is in the hotel but run by others, was excellent for dinner; note that you will likely need to make a reservation at least a day in advance. The other bar areas were also pleasant.
