We've just come back from a 10-day stay at the Cinema Hotel in Tel Aviv. The building itself is a converted cinema and an interesting example of the Tel Aviv Bauhaus architecture. The decor has made intelligent and delighful use of bits and pieces left over from the old cinema, which I hope you will see for yourself. The hotel staff are extremely helpful: from giving directions to get wherever you want to go, to getting you taxis on a holiday (unlike staff at other hotels, which shall remain nameless).
This hotel is for discerning travellers, who want value for money - such as good food included in the daily rate - and who can make do with sauna or jacuzzi in lieu of a swimming pool. In my opinion, it is a must for first-timers to Tel Aviv who want a hotel within a reasonable price range.

Tried to book this via hotel website, but it would not let me, so had to do it on telephone to Atlas hotels group. Slighly more expensive than the Atlas website, but no more expensive than the internet hotel agency websites. Loved this hotel for it being comfortable, reasonably priced, with a bit of cultural interest, and right in the middle of things, there is a lovely square with fountain and twice weekly flea market right outside the door. There are acceptable restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Hotel breakfast was good with a wide selection, even got offerred bucks fizz one morning. You could also sit on the roof terrace and graze on the free pastries and soft drinks every evening. No pool, but there is a Jacuzzi, not right on the seafront, but not far from anywhere. Rooms cleaned everyday, and comfortable enough. The only disadvantage was the nearby nightclub. I stayed for 5 nights, and did not notice the noise on the first four, but on the 5th (a Thursday) it went on until 2a.m. a sort of low throbbing beat, which I found quite annoying. There is no double glazing, but as I was on 3rd floor, it did not make much difference, and there is not a lot of traffic right outside the hotel. I asked about the nightclub noise the next morning. I was told that they were not supposed to be so loud. Not much help really! Loved Tel Aviv found it a very freindly city, particularly if you were prepared to acknowledge it's advantages to the locals. People seemed always ready to help and chat. Only place I did not like was the central bus station- which is also the end of the line for the trains. If you are on a train I would get off on one of the two preceding stations, they were fine. Taxis were not too expensive, easy to find and nearly always used the meter as advised. The only taxi drivers I did not like were the ones waiting like sharks outside the central bus station. There they tried it on with overquoting the price a bit.

I really enjoyed my stay there. The rooms are clean ( I actually stayed in two different rooms while I was there). The breakfast is really great. You'll be well fueled for your touring. The staff is really helpful. Shout outs to Regis, Gil, Erez and Igor. They're great ambassadors for Israel and very helpful with suggestions for restaurants, wine to buy for a Shabbat dinner and places to see. I took advantage of the free bike rentals and went riding around the Tayelet and Yaffo. As others have commented, the location can't be beat (unless of course a beachfront location is paramount to you). It's about a 10 min. walk to the beach and right near a lot of nice restaurants, as well as directly across the street from a 24 hour laundromat. That's convenient on a long trip. You will be in good hands at the Cinema Hotel. Enjoy your stay.

This was my second stay at the Cinema Hotel in the past two years due to work and my employer placed me here both times. Once again, I was very pleased with my stay but for very different reasons. This time I had the misfortune of falling ill during my stay. Elza at the front desk had a doctor to my room within two hours and Nadia on the housekeeping staff made sure my room was comfortable and even brought me some medication wanting no money for it. Truly a remarkable staff. I'm not sure where else I would have wanted to be 6000 miles from home.

I stayed at the Cinema Hotel for 3 nights in March based on reviews on trip advisor. The location is awesome - in the center of everything, less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. The lobby is great, one of the best features is the evening happy hour every night with desserts, fruit, coffee, etc... The rooms are ok, I chose to stay in an inside room (no view) because of the noise factor. Rooms facing Dizengoff Square are definitely louder and the rooms are not sound-proof. Breakfast is great, probably the best I've had at any hotel in Israel (and I've stayed at dozens). All in all it was a great stay and I would definitely stay at this hotel again. By the way if you like indian there is a delicious indian restaurant right next to the Cinema Hotel.

As an Israeli visiting from the States, I stayed here for one night and another three nights during a week in March. I chose this hotel based on the good reviews found here and they are all true. The hotel is centrally located, the rooms are nice and very clean, the breakfast is excellent, but the best are the people working there. They were all very nice and helpulf to a level that is uncommon in the Israeli tourist industry. Elza and Pini at the front desk really made me feel like home, and coming back for another three nights after I stayed there one night I really felt like coming back home. If I need a hotel room in Tel Aviv again I would definitely stay here again.
