Enjoyed the hotel which is right on the beach. We stayed in the executive suites on the upper floors which was very good. The hotel was expensive compared to others of a similar standard but a lot smaller and intimate. Pool is on the roof and is tired. Use the beach!

The Carlton is reasonably situated opposite the marina and moments away from the nicest section of the beach and promenade.

The reception staff were very helpfull, especially as we had some "plumbing" problems with our room - but this was dealt with very efficiently with some "goodies" thrown in for the inconvenience.
The lounge bar service was also very friendly and i would say that the whole lounge area has a very cozy and boutique feel about it.

The swimming pool on the roof is quite relaxed with good music and some nice sofa areas if you dont want to lounge on a sunbed.

I guess its the rooms at the Carlton that require the TLC (Tender loving care) that i refer to in the title. Before i had even seen my room, i enquired if there was an opportunity to upgrade. They showed me the room that i could have and it was disgusting as it was one of the rooms awaiting a refurb.....hence the reason they wanted to show me first.

Our room was a superior seaview and it was - just ok!
The balcony was dirty with cigarette butts (this was a no smoking room / floor) and looked a little dangerous with flaky and cracked cement around the handrail. The furniture was scuffed and chipped in places, but it was the bathroom that needed most attention with a scalding shower that took ages to regulate and mould around the grouting and corner of the bath.

Much has been made of the Carlton buffett breakfast.
I agree and accept that there was plenty of it - but for me and my wife, most of it tasteless including the hot dishes....But good fruit and cereal choice.....and love the apples available all around the hotel

The beach directly opposite the hotel prohibits swimming as its mainly for watersports,
but turning left out of the hotel to the promenade you will find a few restaurants and one directly on the beach called "La La Land" which was simply perfect for lunch and had tables and chairs actually on the beach.

Just a couple of other reccomendations for eating........A 24 hour breakfast place called Benedicts (corner of Jabotinsky and Ben Yehuda street) - outstanding Eggs Benedict served many different ways and an Italian called "Boccaccio" (behind the Dan Panorama)
...excellent Pasta and a very drinkeable Israeli Merlot.
It should be noted that neither of these restaurants were expensive.

On a recent trip to Israel, my father and I both started and ended our trip with stays at the Carlton. Its location on the harbor makes for lively and colorful views of the promenade, beach, sailboats and waves crashing upon the breakers. If you are on the opposite side of the hotel and have a city view, the view is also expansive and one of the coolest buildings in Tel Aviv is right across the street.

The hotel offers a fitness center, pool and spa. The breakfast spread is pretty good and the hotel staff is very accommodating. Welcome drinks upon arrival, plenty of friendly advice and maps on hand to help draw out the best route to get anywhere.

Rooms are small, but comfortable and have balconies. There is a nice gelato place right in front of the hotel and the bar and tea area in the lobby always seem lively. Overall, I think it is a great choice in Tel Aviv.

Beds were very comfy & the room, despite facing the street (not the beach) - was VERY quiet at night. The staff was always on top of their game & very helpful. Internet in the lobby for 10 shekel for 20 minutes.... Green apples are always available throughout the day to snack on & the breakfast buffet was delicous! Thumbs Up -

We were originally booked at The Hilton but after reading all the reviews here we decided at the last minute to change to The Carlton.

We got a better rate and some extra perks as part of our deal. Dinner for 2 (although the suggested hotel restaurant was closed) we ate in the Bar area and were offered choices of a Meat or Dairy Menu. We also had 2 taxi rides in Tel Aviv, a Taxi to the Airport and three shirts ironed.

We were very impressed from the moment we arrived through to departure. The room overlooking the Med was well equipped and breakfast (included) was very good too. The Exec Lounge was only used on departure but there was a good choice of snacks and drinks.

We would definitely stay there again and reccomend it to others.

We arrived early in the morning as opposed to our afternoon check in. Very tired after a 15 hour travel day from New York. They were SO welcoming and gave us 3 rooms hours ahead of schedule with a comp dinner for all.

The hotel is VERY clean, staff is VERY friendly and helpful (we had lost luggage) and they did what they can to help. The dinner and breakfast was very good. Each room had a view of the Mediterrean Sea (gorgeous). At night we sat at the lounge and had a drink.
The gym was nice and clean. There is a walkway down to the beach. All amenities at this hotel was GREAT. You won't be disappointed from reception to wait staff to gym.

I can't comment on the beach and pool because we did not use either.
All in all, it was a great way to start our 12 day trip!
