Stayed at the Carlton with four others at the end of a 8 day adventure through Israel in August. I was extremely satisfied with the service and accommodations. We stayed in the "Mediterranean Presidential Suite" on the top floor of the hotel. The highlight of this 2 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment-like suite was the simply spectacular views of both the Mediterranean and the city through the large windows and from the balcony. The fruit and snack baskets that we received were great, as was the huge selection of beverages that were delivered to us shortly after our arrival. The private lounge/common area provided us with a large spread of food and drinks which was nice. The hotel couldn't have a more perfect location- literally right on the beach. Unfortunately, we were not able to do much more than wade in the water because of gigantic waves that basically closed all of the beaches to swimmers. The hotel has a roof top pool, but to be honest the entire pool/cabana area was lacking...aside from the spectacular views of both the sea and the city.

Dear Trekker3478. It was our pleasure to have you as our guests during your visit to Israel last August and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us. The hotel is now nearing the end of its renovation programme and the Mediterranean Suite has been completely redeveloped and modernised. We are also delighted to advise that the swimming pool area is under renovation, and the new facility will offer the same spectacular location and views but with upgraded facilities. We hope that you will enjoy the new suite and pool area upon your next visit to Tel Aviv.

The Carlton is a good choice if you're spending 1 - 4 nights in Tel Aviv. The pros are its location on the beach, clean and comfortable rooms and facilities, as well as good service. The 45-minute walk along the promenade (beachside sidewalk) as sunset approached was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The disadvantage for some people will be the crowds, which can be annoying when waiting for elevators or if you eat breakfast in the hotel at peak times when a large tour group overwhelms the facility. That said, the Israeli breakfast was excellent -- both tasteful and with "unlimited" food for the biggest eaters, between the buffet and the customized hot food station. While in Tel Aviv, be sure to get tickets for the Nalaga'at Dinner Theater -- which provides an experience that will likely change your views about the world and people who aim to remove the "dis" from disabilities. Independence Hall is another "must see".

Room Tip: We typically prefer rooms on the higher floors but this was not an issue at the Carlton as we had a...

I had a particularly great experience in the Royal Lounge. Loved that it was available most of the day. Naomi was very helpful in guding me to local sites and restaurants, spoke English very well and clearly knew the surrounding community.

All members of the staff at the hotel were excellent. There was confusion at the reception desk about my reservation, but the staff were very reassuring and helpful and did find an excellent room for me at the price I had agreed to.
The staff in the breakfast dining room were also very helpful, attentive, and friendly.
The cleaning staff were meticulous and always kept everything in good order.
Thanks to them all for their help.

This was my second stay at this hotel, the first being back in August 2011. During this stay, the rooftop pool was being completely refurbished (by the looks of it), so was out of use. Not that you'd really want to use it in January....even in Tel Aviv. However in August, it looked great with a bar area on the roof too. It also offers great views of the beach front, so well worth the venture up there even if you don't fancy a swim.
Both times the rooms were very clean and comfortable. They are also quite large too, so lots of space. The bathroom was clean and everything worked with no problems.
I didn't have a chance to eat in the hotel this time, but last year I went to the buffet dinner which was excellent.
The staff were helpful, arranging a taxi for 3am for me too.
A great location too, right by the harbour, and you can walk all the way down the beach of you fancy it.

We spent last weekend at the renovated hotel and loved it. we enjoyed from the modern design, the quality food and the pleasant atmosphere that we found there. We had to add $ 40 to upgrade our room to a room with a view over the sea and it have proved to be successful Decision . its pity that we required to pay entrance to the gym and to pay outrageous price to wireless internet. The main test in my point of view is whether I would come back here again and the answer is sure. Excellent location nice and new rooms and In summary this hotel is highly recommended and is worth the money.

Dear my2303. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel and that our renovations were to your liking. It should be noted that our gym and internet charges are considerably lower than those found in many of the surrounding hotels, but your remarks regarding these have been passed to our management team. We hope to have you as our guests once again in the very near future.
