Not a bad hotel, but lacks character and intimacy, like most large hotels. However, it is situated nicely -- across the street from the Mediterranean and the spacious beach front Promenade that leads to the historic city of Jaffa. Jaffa is a pleasant 10-20 minute walk away and along the way you will pass by a pleasant restaurant, the Mantra Ray, which is a good choice at sunset. Lots to do in Tel Aviv, but if you are on your way to Jerusalem and the Holy sites you'd be well-advised to pick a couple of major attractions (the Palmach Museum should be one...but reserve well in advance online) and plan to relax by the fine hotel pool before starting out for the streets where Jesus walked.

Room Tip: If you can, get a room on a high floor looking out on Jaffa.

The staff in the Executive Lounge are all very helpful and charming, the exception was Dana Deri who exceeded those qualities, she made the stay better than we expected, this was our 6th stay in the David and Dana made it the best yet, looking forward to our next visit. Sally Lesser

Room Tip: High floor with the great views of Tel Aviv whichever side of hotel you are on.

For nearly three years, we have made the Intercontinental our home base for stays from seven to fourteen days, several times a year. Because the staff is so good at remembering returning guests, from the breakfast buffet greeters all the way up to the lounge crew, we choose to return and not stay elsewhere. In particular, Dana and the team in the Business Lounge, go out of their way to make one feel at home. In addition, the concierge handles requests promptly and efficiently. The rooms are very generous in size, well air conditioned in the warm weather and good amenities are provided. The hotel is in a great location along the waterfront promenade, just a short distance to Yafo or to the streets of Neve Tzedek, the Carmel Market and the crafts Bazaar on Na'halat Binyamin.

Room Tip: A view to the sea is worth having.

I have been staying in this Hotel many many times for up to 30 days at a time and the service and the conduct of all poeple there has been outstanding....
I must highlight about the great atmosphere and great friendly / kind service i get from the Executive Lounge on the 24th Floor..............i must mention a name here but the one persion that stands out for me is Hadeel Siksek she is very friendly and highly professional in her job and nothing she won't do to see that you have a great stay !!!!!

Room Tip: Make a point to go to the Excutive lounge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed there for 7 nights, with 2 small children in Club room. Rooms are spacious and modern enough - we especially loved the food (breakfasts and dinner) and the pool. The lounge is great, although it's a shame kids aren't allowed in and we were only informed about free meals for kids in the lobby a day or so before we departed. My only grumble would be about the lack of free wifi although I am looking forward as Platinum Ambassador to receiving free wifi on my next stay.

Reservations: made by travel agent.
Check in: fast efficient and reasonably friendly.
Room: spacious with a nice view of the old city of Jaffa and the sea. Furniture in nice condition but the overall decor was dated. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a flatscreen. The bathroom was spacious with both a tub and a separate shower. Some mold on the shower grout. Shower door leaked a lot onto the floor. Towels and bath products were high quality.
Internet: EXPENSIVE! NO FREE WIFI for cell phones or iPADs. $15/day for EACH DEVICE. I ended up paying $100 for 5 days of service on my iPAD and iPhone, with free WIFI for my computer. The internet was slow and the signal was spotty in my room.
Ambience: the lobby was huge and modern, the hallways upstairs were dark and the walls badly needed painting.
Pool: gorgeous.
Gym: small but I couldn't use it because I had sandals and no running shoes.
Service: mixed. Very rude behavior by one desk attendant and the night manager, but everyone else was very nice.
Breakfast: yummy and diverse menu. Included in my room price. Fabulous food and good service.
Location: walking distance to beach, the old city of Jaffa, and the up and coming neighborhood of Neve Tzedek.

WARNING: the ATM in the LOBBY charges a $5.00 fee for EACH TRANSACTION...a total rip off and one that is not clearly specified.

Take away: an ok hotel with a lot of nickel and diming that diminishes the experience and heightens the cost. I will NOT be staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor overlooking the Mediterranean.
