“2nd visit. Even better than last time. Still some minor glitches.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012

After a good first experience a few months ago, we decided to take another weekend break at the David Intercontinental in Tel-Aviv. We keep choosing this hotel primarily because of the wonderful sea views from the rooms and the convenient location.
Basd upon our previous experience I booked a corner suite (they exist only between floors 2 and 8), as the best balance between room size, view and price. I requested a room on the 8th floor, if possible. Upon arrival, we learned that they had only prepared a 5th floor room. This slight disappointment was immediately defused by the wonderful reception staff who informed us that they had decided to upgrade us instead to a "Jaffa suite" on the 14th floor.
The Jaffa Suite is a good sized one bedroom suite with a large living area, both rooms with wall to wall windows with magnificent sea views. Good furnishings, although they do not look totally new (and the small cigarette burn in the sofa did detract from the overall impression), great king size bed, with the most comfortable sheets and blankets I have ever found in an Israeli hotel. Very good sized bathroom, with separate bath and wonderful "rain" shower stall. Lots of cupboard space.
All in all, a perfect room for a weekend getaway.
As always - some minor glitches, to remind us that there is always room for improvement:
1) I ordered a cheese platter for a light dinner. When it arrived, I pointed out to the (very nice) waiter that he had forgotten to bring any bread or crackers with the cheese plate (not only does the cheese plate not make much sense without them but they also specifically appear in the room service menu). He quickly came back with a full plate of crackers. Only after he left did I realize that he had brought the cheese plate without any cutlery or even a napkin! Apparently they thought we would eat everything by hand (which we did). Defeinitely room for improvement there.
2) The wonderful rain shower stall has a door which annoyingly keeps opening when you're in the shower. However - if you push it hard so that it "sticks" you may discover (as we did) that it won't open again unless someone pushes against it (very strongly indeed) from the outside. A humorous incident for us, which could have been very uncomfortable if the person taking the shower was alone in the room at the time....
Bottom line - for me still the best luxury hotel in Tel-Aviv, with very warm service. Some minor incidents do not detract fromt he fact that we had a very restful and enjoyable weekend.

Of course, many of the things you would expect from an Intercontinental. I am biased because I am an IHG premium member, but booked in here as a business party because the office recommended it. Inside, there are probably less facilities than I would expect, and the sea facing rooms have late night noise from the road out in front. Breakfast, though good, is a bit of a zoo and also be aware that for Shabat, you can't get an expresso or anything hot for room service. Rooms, beds and bathrooms are well equipped and decent size, but the shower could be better, and the mini bar prices are outrageous.Good hotel yes, value for money, not so sure. Also, was here in July and we foung the aircon struggled a bit. Originally I was booked in the newer Crowne Plaza, but changed. Next time I will probably try that instead.

I stayed in this hotel several times and it is used to be nice hotel but when I stayed in this hotel last time, I was suffered from noise every night and found out source of noise came from bar on the beach in front of the hotel.

I know it is NOT hotel's problem but I decided not to stay in this hotel any more.

Stayed in the David Intercontinental for two nights and well… what can I say? it was perfect. High quality hotel with profanely service that you usually don’t get from businesses in Tel-Aviv.
In a perfect location, just 10 minutes walk from the great flea market in Jaffa, cross the street from the seaside and 5 minutes from the Carmel market and Shaynkin, the hotel is the perfect port for touring this dynamic city.
The room was huge and clean, from the large glass window you will get a panoramic view of the city. The breakfast was amazing and the pool area is fantastic for a downtown hotel.
I want to recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to enjoy Tel-Aviv in the best quality manner.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and it was a very good experience. The rooms are big and spacious, bathrooms are clean and efficient, checked in and out efficiently, the breakfast was a good spread. Location of the hotel is also very good. The views from the rooms are spectacular! The service in this hotel was excellent. Worth every penny spent here!
