“Charming place right in the middle of everything”

Within short walking distance of tens of restaurants, bars and nightlife spots, this little hotel offers quiet rooms with elegant decor, quality towels and toiletries and excellent service from the staff downstairs. Espresso machine is available in the rooms, as well as complementary nuts and dried fruit. Local calls from the rooms are free! A larger espresso machine is available at the nice lobby, where you can have coffee and drinks for no additional cost. The hotel doesn't really offer breakfast except for a small selection of bakes and coffee. Don't go for the deal they will offer you with the next door restaurant - just walk a few minutes to Cafe Noir or any of the other cafes nearby where you can get excellent breakfast for a similar price.

Excellent location, very cosy room, can notice that the designer put attention to little things in decoration.

We stayed at the Rothchild the 1st week of July, and enjoyed every minute of it. From the point of arrival we were taken care of and put at ease. The reception is informal and relaxed, we were offered water or coffee during check in and the staff then took us to the room to show us the facilities and make sure we were happy. Very nice touch.

I was slightly worried when in the neighbouring building - which looks like a squat - there was a party in full swing and I thought it was going to go on all night. The staff knew exactly what was going on and explaned it was a "creative space" which the owners had let people use whilst they waited for permits to develop and the party would not go on past 10pm. So again, I felt the staff were in control of the situation.

The room (a studio) was comfortable and very clean. I think they are used to people coming for work week or weekend trips as we struggled a little to put all our stuff somewhere, but it was not too much of a problem. Another chest of drawers would have solved that.

The daily maid service, and towel change every other day made sure everything was kept in order. The air con worked well, wet room with rain shower was very enjoyable, the nespresso coffee machine was lovely, mini-fridge (with reasonably priced drinks) and black out blind meant the room was very suited to our needs.

The location is great - right in the heart of Rothschild with all the cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood and the tel-o-fun bike dock opposite. Also a supermarket around the corner to get snacks for your room. There is a light breakfast included, (pastries and coffee) but really you'll use the cafes on the street to set yourself up for the day. The staff were helpful and happy to recommend things to do and see, and have directions and maps.

Overall a very pleasing experience, and I'd be happy to go back :)

Three of us (my brother, son and I) stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was very clean and spacious; it seemed brand new. It's the first time I've been somewhere with no reception desk of any kind. You sit in what seems to be a large living room and a person with a laptop computer and a phone checks you in. The service was excellent, especially Zehavit. We needed a late check out because our flight was not until midnight and they were very accommodating. Perfect stay.

I have stayed in many places in Tel Aviv and I fell upon here by accident, and all I can say is after one night in an allegedly upscale beach hotel I was very lucky to park myself at The Rothschild for an extended stay. The staff became my extended family, and the room, the area all rate exceptional in my book.I will be back! For a great dinner go to doors north to Shulchon, or for breakfast/lunch try Delicatessen.

The first thing you will notice about the Rothschild is that you enter off the Rothschild Boulevard which is a lively treelined street with a central corso full of activity and life. It is everything that you may have imagined about cosmopolitan TelAviv. The hotel is one of a new breed of boutique hotels that has recently become popular in TelAviv as older elegant buildings are renovated and recycled. The receptionist sits in a couch behind a coffee table and welcomes you offering a coffee, tea or water. It is about as friendly as checking in can be and it is amazing that she somehow has all she needs to do the job in a small space. Our room was large, well appointed and nicely decorated. The bathroom was generous with a walk-in shower!!! Towels and toiletries were of the highest standard. The building is old but the rooms are very nicely appointed and the beds are comfortable. The rooms are bigger than you might have expected. Not only was internet free, with as many devices as you like connectable, but a printer was provided free in the room, and all calls in Israel, even to mobiles, were absolutely free. There is an espresso machine in the room. The free breakfast was a bit limited as space is an issue and if you go outside you strike the smokers. They have a very nice coffee machine which makes excellent espresso and is available free any time of the day or night. We came back from a dinner in a nice restaurant and invited our friends in for a cup of coffee. A nice library of interesting books completes the picture. If you want a more extensive breakfast there is an excellent restaurant attached to the hotel but of course they charge. But we found food in TelAviv to be generally of high standard and generous. If I have a negative to report it is that the room can be a bit noisy as the street life goes on till all hours. Still it is fun, cosmopolitan, interesting and so well located that you can walk to most places. They may think about double glazing the front rooms. Even so we will go back.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, a room away from the street may be best.
