Our evening at Hatraklin was fabulous. But the wonderful hospitality started that afternoon. We were in the neighborhood, and I wanted to see the restaurant before dinner that night. The owner (I suspect) noticed we were a bit overheated and invited us in for a cool drink. We returned that evening for fantastic service from Natali and delicious food. The wine was very reasonably priced and so good. I will recommend this lovely restaurant with its welcoming staff to all. By American standards, I would describe this as a very reasonably priced restaurant for the quality of the dining experience.

i've been in this restaurant twice this past month and let me tell you the food and atmosphere are simply amazing. we tried the Charcuterie sausage porte, the porter house 900gr, the butchers cut and the entrecote steak that served with delicious potato and truffle puree. the desserts are also very very good. the staff is proffessional and they gave us two dishes on the house. no doubt we will come back there. thanks for 2 fantastic evenings. Highly recomended!

I think we would have enjoyed our meal much more if the air conditioning was working properly and they didn't play annoying lounge music in the background.
We were warmly welcomed by Natalie, our wonderful hostess. She gave us a short background of the restaurant and building. We ordered everything that she recommended and the food was absolutely excellent. The wine was also fantastic. I loved that all the meat and wine was of Israeli origin. I think it was a pity the a/c wasn't working properly since it was difficult to truly enjoy the culinary experience when I wasn't comfortable.
We will definitely come back again since we both want to try different appetizers and entrees (although the pate was so good, I will probably order it again).

It had been a couple of years since my last visit to Hatraklin, a restaurant I remembered liking, but not loving. But as a family member was in Tel Aviv for the first time in a few decades, I thought it an ideal spot due to the stunning building it inhabits.

Where to start? Unusually for a restaurant in Tel Aviv, Hatraklin has a really strong identity, based on Israeli sourced red meat and Israeli boutique wines - an identity they pulled off to great effect.

The wine was excellent, I remember only that is was a somewhat smokey white (mix grape - semi-dry) from the Judean Mountains.

For starter we had the Moroccan bread, which was great (as warned it can ruin your meal), and an off-menu special of meat tartar, which was wonderful. We were given a cauliflower dish for free which was a bit dull.

For main course we split the entrecote skewers which were very good if not memorable, and two of the selection of very interesting sausages, which were excellent.

For dessert we had the Knafe which the waitress recommended and was very, very good.

We were served by Natalie who was so enthusiastic my guest asked her if she owned the restaurant!
