I have been there several times. The food is excellent: the fish is fresh and tasty, the fatush salad is good spiced,
very good meat, good vintage wine and the dessert is palatable and very aesthetic.
In addition, it is nice restaurant and while eating there is pleasant mediterranean music.
there is parking area.

Service was pleasant, food was good, not great, staff were friendly.
A little expensive, overall we enjoyed the experience and thought we would like to let you know.

Went due to the positive reviews. Had one outstanding dish, a root vegetable risotto with outstanding clean fresh taste and perfect herbal seasoning. But then had one real flub of a dish, a meat-filled pastry that was well conceived but terribly executed. The kitchen seemed to have microwaved it (!) so that the ground meat filling was pasty, half-raw and watery, making the phyllo pastry soggy on the bottom. Then, presumably to crisp up the pastry, they grilled it and burned it on the top. And served it.
So maybe Bertie is great on a good night, but they can clearly be uneven and unreliable.
Won't hurry back.

Service is fine, atmosphere is fine.
The food is no good.

Green leaves: not chopped, room temperature, small plate of green vegetables. Seriously?!

Sambusak: pretty much the normal, standard, market bought, sambusak. The inside was creamy and a little interesting, but it was under seasoned, and not dominant enough to compete with the (standard) thick pastry.

Lentil soup: this was actually alright. Seasoned well with a good amount of dried crushed garlic.

Bread: wasn't as soft on the inside as I have come to expect from restaurants. The spicy spread was good though, so I put it on everything.

Burekas: this was the worst. It was a burekas. Nothing more, nothing less. This one, you really could find in the supermarket. This cannot be a main dish at a restaurant, and not any dish at a supposedly high-end restaurant. The inside was spinach and feta, very standard for this pastry. It came with sliced cherries, having spent a tiny bit on the grill. They were cold, which made their slight grilling bad for them.

Price: it is expensive. These dishes cost around 50 shekels each (except the soup).

I reckon it's more for tourists who would like to eat street food, but not on the street. I'm shocked at the popularity of the restaurant here, as I've spent the last hour confirming with cuisine-experienced (or something) friends that this place is no good. It's just too bad I didn't confirm before going.

I was there and they served food that was not fully heaten up. I got rare meat.
So i got really sick from the germ: campolybactus.

Its a shame- cause it shouldent be so hard to heat up meat to 65 degrees(where all the germs die), espessially if cooking is your profession.

It destroyed part of My trip to get sick!
