“Great place!!!”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

This place is located in the center of Tel Aviv nightlife. It is not big so you want to book your place in advance (weekends in particular). The service is great , the food is superb and the alcohol and wine selection is decent - all at quiet acceptable prices. It is not one of the fanciest places in the city - more like a wine bar with great gastronomic options. If this types of places suites you don't miss this one

“An excellent adress for refined food”
Reviewed December 19, 2012

We stumbled onto this restaurant by accident - lucky us! We had a nice table outside, the waiter is attentive, the card is small but has some attractive dishes. Most of us ordered the specials however, which was duck (in two variations) with homemade mashed potatoes. Excellent!

There was a problem with one plate (a tiny piece of glass had smuggled itself into it), but the Cafe 48 staff show how to react in such a situation: Profuse apologies by both the waiter and the manager, an offer for free digestif drinks and an extra dessert to split among us as recompensation.

Speaking of the desserts: These are honestly almost worth the visit alone. Outstanding tiramisu, the chocolate cake was also great.

“One of the nicer bistros in the area”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

Its a small place, hiding in plain sight. The service is decent, and the menu quite creative. Almost all dishes were unique, though the quality and taste varied from "really good" to "boring". Prices are also on the high side compared to the rather small plates.

A good place to eat in, if you have a craving for something new and you're not that hungry.

“One of my favorites”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Good food, good service, fair prices, what else can you ask?

It's one of my favorites in Tel Aviv. Been here a few times and never left dissapointed. The dishes are creative and all of them well-executed, using only fresh and high-quality produce. I can't think of a dish I didn't like.

It's not fancy and probably not as modern as other places (not really a celebrity spot), but still nice for a quiet dinner for a couple or small group of friends.

And the best is the "Crack Pie" dessert, just a little piece of heaven... Make sure they save you a slice!
