“Noisy”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

We spent two nights there in March. The first was not too bad but the during the second the party was on the whole night in the lobby (just behind the door of our dorm) and we were not able to sleep. We met someone in Jerusalem who had the same problem at this Hostel few days before us. The lobby needs to be refreshed. The only one good point of the Hostel is outdoor terrasse you can relaxe instead of waiting in your crampy room. unfortunately there are parties too so it can be noisy night time

Room Tip: the room with window on the street is better and larger

I stayed for two nights at chef hostel over easter break. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming :) I met lots of new people as i was travelling solo and the hostel organised a night out for us all on the friday evening to check out the Tel Aviv night life. I felt very at home at this hostel, its very comfortable and in a great location for the markets and bars. If you're looking for somewhere friendly and with a great location this is the place to go and I will definately be coming back in the future!

Room Tip: The lower ground female dorm stays dark in the morning so great for lie ins!

I had a great time at chef. I have already been there before, but always great to go back. super nice family and hostel owner, feel like home and in my opinion really best place to stay in TLV. Especially when travelling solo or with friends.

The hostel is family run and Roy and Felix are very kind and helpful. Felix is always open to give every possible advice for TLV and Roy frequently takes his guests out to his favorite TLV nightlife places. The other team members (2014) Brenn, Judith and Sierrra are very friendly and supportive and the team is like a family. The hostel is quite calm, as located in Montefiore street, which has nearly no traffic. The location is perfect for a TLV visit, as museums (Hagana, Museum of Modern Art and some galleries), nightlife locations (Lilienblum, Rothschild, Allenby), beaches and shopping centers (Dizengoff, Carmel market) are in a short walking distance. To the nice Neve Tzedek district and the Suzanne Dellal Center it's a 5 minutes walk only. The busses 16, 104, 204 are close by and therefore it is easy to reach the hostel from the airport taking the train to Hagana station and from there one of the busses. There is a lovely atrium to take a sunbath or meeting other travelers from around the world for a chat. Thanks, Volker

Room Tip: Rooms in the first floor are perfectly quiet and have private bath rooms..

This was a really good hostel in my opinion. I was a solo travler and my trip was about to explore the city and Jerusalem, but mainly just chilling out on the beach. One thing i really liked about this hostel was the location close to everything. At the evnings there was always people on the backyard communicating, some having a few drinks and some just wanted to have some company. That was also perfect for me as a solo travler because if i wanted to go out i always had the chanse to meet someone to go out with at the hostel. And the party life in Tel aviv is crazy if you just find the right place! My tip ask locals!.

Overall a friendly clean hostel with a good atmosphere around you all the time. Actully one of the best i have been to! I will definitely come back to Tel aviv and this place! /Happy Longboarder

We stayed 5 nights at Chef Hostel and it was great!
Like at home, no stress and a lot of freedom. The location is perfect for the nightlife but also, during the day, to go to the main spots to the market, to the yemenite quarter and then to the very nice beach & promenade. The staff and the owner are very kind, helpfull and fun. We booked the triple room with terrace and it was clean and the beds were confortable. The guests were friendly and we met a lot of new friends and beautiful girls from all around the world. It was very easy to go out together to get a drink. I strongly reccomend this hostel! Definetely a groovy place that can give you something more than the usual stereotyped international hostels.

The hostel is so well located that I wasn't sure I was heading to the correct address when I first arrived. The toilets are very clean, the bunks are basic but quite comfortable. It is a very safe place and the staff is really nice. I have been three times in Tel Aviv and this is the best stay I have had.
