Food is generally superb at this group of restaurants (the Crispy Chicken "Vietnam" is the go-to for lunch/dinner, and the veg tempura is pleasant too), but the service at this one is generally very good. Although occasionally the attitude is a bit gruff from some of the servers, they tend to take good care of you.

The Israeli breakfast is the best in town. All Israeli breakfasts consist of salad, bread, cheeses, cream cheese, your choice of eggs, and two drinks. This one is served on lovely plates, the quality is high, and you feel like you're doing it in style.

I want to give it 5 stars, but my policy is to subtract two stars for venues that are cavalier about cigarette and cigar smoke. This place has both. They even have a smoking room during much of the week, from which much of the smoke drifts out. And the smoke from the patio makes it impossible to dine there - and it's the nicest spot in the restaurant. Besides which, they frequently leave the doors open and the smoke simply wafts in and poisons the patrons inside.

Montefiore: please get your act together. At the very least, keep those doors closed, and/or ban smoking at the tables right by the door. But some of us non-smokers would like to sit outside too. Why not have half the balcony non-smoking? There are two distinct sections; it wouldn't be that difficult. You have a committed patronage and you wouldn't lose any business even if you banned smoking altogether. Why don't you set an example for Israel with smoking, just as you do with your excellent quality service?

Reservations are essential.

Visited about a month ago, it is a very trendy place in the center of the city; the restaurant, at the ground floor, is part of a boutique hotel, 4 floors high, restructured beautifully on the basis of a Bauhaus construction, which some 50 years ago functioned as a textile workshop at the lower floors. Visited on the late morning of a Saturday, sunny and pleasant day, for a late classical Israeli breakfast, which was fair in its quality and presentation, but lacked in originality. The service was quick and efficient. The negative point, for me, resulted in a noisy and crowded athmosphere (remember it was saturday), the guests were all yougsters, in groups or as members of young families, with anexed kids of tender age, mostly in their baby carriages, which contributed to render the place very noisy. Maybe it is different in other days, when people is working, or may be better to find a place within the building for parking the carriages.

As always. I try to have at least one meal here every time i'm in Tel Aviv and I've never been disappointed. People watching is also great. Sit at the bar if you can. It's much more fun!

Great location, well-appointed old-fashioned (in the most positive sense) interior, impeccable service and everything you need to be happy with your breakfast. Variety of fresh-baked bread and rolls, all-natural jam, selections of smoked meat and cheese, salmon, omelettes, wonderful coffee, nice desserts... A perfect place to start the day with a business partner or a friend or your significant other. Prices are on the high side but a breakfast at Montefiore's won't destroy your bank account. Actually, my bill never exceeds NIS140 for two.

This place is amazing! What a beautiful venue, great crowd, lovely staff and the food was out of this world! I went there twice - once for dinner and once for a breakfast meeting and both meals were fantastic. For dinner I had the chicken tikka which was superb - one of the best I have ever tasted. And they made me an amazing cocktail - the bar staff were highly skilled. I will definitely come back here when I am next in TA.
