“Nice hotel, great service, best breakfast buffet, free Internet”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

This is a nice hotel, with ocean view from some rooms. It's on the other side of the busy beach road. Some rooms are a bit small, but some doubles are bigger (like room 11). I had a standard room toward the back of the hotel. Very quiet. Reception staff is very friendly, helpful and multi-lingual. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen. There is free happy hour Sun-Thurs with champagne, juice, and liqueurs, with a few munchies. The rooftop is nice in the afternoon to see the sunset and to enjoy massages. Every weekday they have 2 hours worth of 15 min slots of free massages... wonderful. They also rent bikes for free. The location is close (walking distance) to the old port of Tel Aviv where you find great restaurants and there are also great restaurants right around the corner. Internet was fast and free. You can walk to the market on the boardwalk and even all the way to Jaffa in about 45 min. The beach towels come in a little bag with a bottle of water, free of course. There are bigger hotels right on the beach, but this one has charme, better service and free amenities that one usually has to pay for extra elsewhere. Would definitely stay there again if I go back to Tel Aviv.

Room Tip: Room 11 nice and big for 2 people. Standard rooms are o.k. for singles. Ocean view rooms are facing...

We have just spent 5 nights at the Shalom. The hotel exceded our expectations. The rooms were spotless and great smelling towels were in abundance. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and the waitstaff were really friendly. The front desk, especially Alexandra and Avi, went above and beyond the call of duty. The free massage was a welcome break on the beautiful rooftop. The free wifi and happy hour were a plus. The hotel is in a great position and is within a very easy walk to Ben Yehuda and Dizengof Streets as well as to the beaches. I got an added bonus of a complimentary bottle of wine on my birthday. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Quick, last minute trip to Tel Aviv arriving late on Sunday evening and leaving early Tuesday. Reception was very polite and gave good ideas on where to go for a beer after a long journey. Room was very good, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. On Tuesday morning arrived too early for breakfast, but staff were very pleasant and made coffee and offered items from the cooked menu. Could do with a bar somewhere (roof terrace) but otherwise very comfortable. Very helpfull and polite staff.

Room Tip: Room 206 was very good

I have already been to the hotel in September 2011, and returned in July 2012. The second time was as great as the first time.
The hotel is well situated, 5 minutes walk to the beach and the port, just behind the streets with restaurants and bars.
As soon as you enter the hotel you are warmly welcome from the reception. The people there are always helpful and give great advice for restaurants. When arriving the person explains very nicely what the hotel offers; the great and complete breakfast offering continental and israeli dishes, the free daily 15 minutes massage, the happy hour with small food and drinks, the free wifi, the free bikes and the rooftop, which is absolutly great! It has a nice view on the sea (and even the hilton's high building of cannot dimnish the pleasant view. It has couches, tables and stretchers.
The rooms are nice and cosy, they are not big but in my opinion the size is just perfect! They are well equipped and the bed is very comfortable!
I really enjoyed going there and hope to come back soon. I recommend it!!!!

Right from the moment you step in you feel the warm, welcoming, relaxing atmosphere of this hotel. The hotel is well run, the manager is present in the background overlooking everything. And at the same time she is available for a chat.
All people working there are very friendly and helpful.
As a guest at Shalom Hotel you feel you are REALLY a guest, not a number.
Great breakfast is served in the lounge, which gives you a feeling of being home away from home; this is emphasized by the apples and newspapers on the tables.
Nicely decorated, but what made our holiday where the people.
This is definitely a hotel we would like to return to.

Room Tip: rooms in the back are more quiet.

We had the pleasure of spending 10 very comfortable and lazy days at the Shalom Hotel in early June 2012. Our Superior room was of a reasonable size, with very pretty blue and white decor, crisp sheets, comfortable beds. The bathroom tiny - just big enough for one person - but sparkling white with nice spa toiletries. Towels could have been a bit fluffier - but we survived ;-) We loved the pretty decor, friendly service, always courteous staff. Breakfasts were delicious and abundant in choice and quality. We found the 5pm Happy Hour a life saving bridge between beach and dinner - varied and simply delicious! The Hilton beach opposite the hotel, as we discovered, is the well-known Tel Aviv gay beach, and involved a bit of a steep climb back up to road level. We opted instead to walk to the next nearest Gordon Beach - a pleasant 20 mins either way - and found the beach there to be excellent - soft sand, no pebbles, warm water, very clean with umbrellas, chairs aplenty and good restaurant service right to your deck chair! All in all a wonderful experience and we hope to return to this home away from home again very soon!

Room Tip: Higher rooms facing the street have good views of the ocean and less noise.
