The Diaghilev, LIVE ART Suites Hotel
Ranked #12 of 102 Hotels in Tel Aviv
Certificate of Excellence

The Diaghilev is a quiet, unpretentious and extremely comfortable boutique hotel in one of the most interesting parts of Tel Aviv. The hotel is clean and very convenient, and emphasizes customer service (a contrast with some other Tel Aviv hotels of the large beachfront tourist-oriented kind) and they really work hard at it. The staff and management are all extraordinarily friendly. Wi-Fi is free! At present the hotel has no on-site dining, but this is to be remedied soon, and in the restaurant-rich area of Rothschild Street, no one really needs a hotel restaurant anyway. This was my first stay at the Diaghilev (on the recommendation of a friend) and I now know I will never go anywhere else when in TA.

I stayed here over a long weekend in late June. The hotel has a great, central location with lots of excellent shops, bars, restaurants and cultural attrations just a five minute walk away. From there it is only a fifteen or twenty minute walk to the beach. All the taxi drivers knew the hotel too eventhough it is relatively small and discreet.

My room was huge with a big balcony too. It had a big tv with a lots of good, free channels and a seperate bedroom. The bathroom had a very good shower and a nice selection of bathing products. Wifi was free, fast and always worked. A/C did too. There is no breakfast but you can go to their sister hotel (1 minute walk away) and get 15% off there. Alternatively, the area is full of excellent cafes.

A special mention must go to the staff. I found everybody genuinely warm, friendly and helpful - day and night. Anytime I approached reception with a query I was always asked if I would like a coffeee and after that my question was dealt with quickly, comprehensively and entirely to my satisfaction. Every time I returned from an excursion staff sought feedback and were genuinely interested to know how I had gotten on. I got especially good assitance with booking concert tickets and returning an item left behind.

I have stayed in countless hotels all over the world and, all things considered, I would have no hesitation in saying this is one of the best. Well done team!

Enjoyed the location smack in the heart of the first Jewish city. Read numerous hebrew street signs along the timely Rotchild Blvd all the way up to water cascades at the new National theatre. Just like my early a.m. jog lush with history, this hotel was adorned with amenities, surrounded by eateries that made it all fun to be there. Tight underground private parking but real practical to be relieved of city woes. The weird pull curtain on the old time wire as a clothes closet was a bit of a surprise to us, but this didn't stop us from enjoying the art works all around the hotel.

Room Tip: Rm 505 was given to us as an upgrade, great A/C, spacious 2 rm suite facing the street was real quie...

Stayed there twice recently - for one night then a few weeks later for two nights. Great, central location near Rothschild Boulevard with its exciting nightlife, fantastic bars and restaurants, where you can also get the best breakfasts! My single suite was modern, large, open and clean - more than I really needed as I mostly ate out; but finding complementary biscuits, bottled water and orange juice was a welcome surprise! Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and caring and I really appreciated their restaurant recommendations. I would stay there again anytime.

We originally booked for 4 nights but stayed an additional 2. This hotel is not for everyone - not for a tourist who needs a full service establishment. It is a fabulous place for those who are more familiar with TA or want an experience closer to living in the city. The hotel is on a side street (quiet) in an excellent location (lovely area in walking distance to many attractions; convenient to public transportation or easy to get a cab). It is in a Bauhaus building which TA is famous for. There is no sign outside in this residential neighborhood so you know you are there when you see the building #. For a $15 fee there is a parking lot in the building. You can take your own car in/out at your convenience - this is great as street parking is tough. Our room was the size of a one bedroom apartment in New York City. A small kitchen area with an electric kettle to heat up water for coffee or tea which supplied. There is a small grocery store just around the corner where you can make purchases. The living area has a sofa, chair, coffee table, TV and small dining area with table/2 chairs. Each room has different furnishings and original art work. The bed was fine although the black sheets and towels weren't exactly our taste. The bathroom was large but the tub a bit too small for the rainhead shower. The water was hot and the airconditioning worked very well (very important especially in the hot humid weath). There is no restaurant but we did have a very good breakfast at the sister hotel on Rothchild Blvd. The staff was very pleasant and promptly attended to any requests. We didn't see or need any recommendations for typical tourist services. Overall, a great place for those who want to feel like they are at home rather than visiting.

A lovely boutique hotel in the heart of Tel Aviv.
It's an " art. " hotel and the lobby , as well as the rooms, are full with tasteful paintings as well as other items of art.
I had a fantastic suite, with a kitchenette ( no warming facility though) a bedroom and a living room with a balcony.
The only problem is that there is no breakfast at all, but I understand they are addressing this as well...
Above all, the service is friendly and efficient.
I recommend.

We spent 3 nights at this boutique Hotel.
It is locates at a trendy zone in Tel-Aviv with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The hotel suites are big and spacious, with separate areas living room and a nice king bed separate room. It also includes a semi equipped kitchen (not for cooking but the fridge is greatly appreciated).
The rooms atmosphere is modern yet comfortable and the staff is always willing tpo go the extra mile to help you and treat you like family.
I’d definitely recommend this place for people who likes and over-spaced suite in a city where this is not the rule and where service is much better that the usual Israeli style.
The hotel has no restaurant in house but the are is full of options and their sister property also offers this service within a 10min walk.
Give it a try and you wont regret!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Diaghilev is a bohemian boutique hotel that offers an extraordinary and exceptional cultural experience intensified by an excellent personal service. The hotel features an art gallery exhibiting over 500 artworks that change every 6 months, unique and mostly radical decor items, a collection of hand made rugs from all over the universe, most of which are ancient and therefore reflect the aged cultures they originate from. The Diaghilev has recently established a HUB for Start-ups and integrates a wide activity in such fields as design, fashion and technology. The uniqueness of the hotel brought it into prominence among internationally acknowledged artist visiting Tel Aviv and the world of technology and start-up. Many employees of the leading corporations in the world choose the Diaghilev as their base in Tel Aviv. Built in the purest Bauhaus the Diaghilev invites its guests to experience a World Cultural Heritage site rich of hundreds of Bauhaus buildings and get a taste of the “White City.” Our uncommon nocturnal concept was designed taking account of a recent scientific research that showed evidence that black beddings cause intensive production of Melatonin hormone, which results in deeper sleep, stronger immune system and increased anti-aging effect. The Diaghilev is an eco-friendly hotel, committed to a continually expanding list of operating practices that aim to maintain minimal environmental impact. The toiletries at the Diaghilev are of outstanding quality. They are produced from natural materials created from plants cultivated for this purpose in the hills of Jerusalem. These products are produced and packaged at a small factory that employs people with disabilities and integrates them into the labor market. Our creativity-support concept lead to the establishment of the HUB - a shared work environment that is more than a physical workplace for creative entrepreneurs: It is designed to nurture a community in which creators will be able to collaborate with one another in order to produce innovative projects and initiatives. ... more   less
