My wife and another couple stayed at the Gordon Hotel for my wife’s milestone birthday. It is a very small hotel with rooms on the second and third floors. The hotel is right across a major noisy highway from the beach. The restaurant and lounge on the first floor were fortunately closed while we were there but if they were operating it would have created a very noisy and crowded facility. Also, a number of buildings in the area are under construction which adds to the noise factor during weekdays. There were not a lot of nice restaurants in the area and the person at the desk was not that knowledgeable about dining options. The housekeeping staff was very attentive.

The rooms are small but well appointed. The bathroom is built into a corner of the room and is separated by a glass wall which can be blocked with a curtain. That layout was slightly better in the oceanfront room but some people might find it disconcerting.

The included breakfast was above average. The first morning of our stay they had delicious freshly squeezed orange juice. After the first day they served unappetizing orange juice from a bottle. When I asked the reason for the change they advised me that oranges were no longer in season which was ridiculous.

The major issue I have with the hotel are with what I consider to be their lack of integrity. We were promised free parking and a deluxe ocean view room. Our troubles started when they attempted to charge us for parking. After showing the parking attendant and the desk clerk the email from the hotel showing free parking, they reluctantly agreed to waive the charge. When we were shown our room, it was not the ocean front room they promised. As an excuse, they told us the room, which was on the side of the building, was in a quieter location. When questioned about the ocean view they stated if you went out to the small balcony and leaned over, you can see the ocean.

After we left, we had an issue with the manner in which they charged our credit card. I emailed them for an explanation and they ignored me. I finally filed a protest with my credit card company and only as a result of that did I get an explanation through the credit card company, I never heard from the hotel.

So in short, we were not given the room we were promised for my wife’s birthday, they attempted to charge us for parking despite written assurances that it was free and they would not respond to an email requesting an explanation of a credit card charge.

I would advise anyone considering a stay at the Gordon Hotel to beware of their business practices. Over and above that, if you do not plan on staying out late at night and partying, the noise from the lounge might be something to be concerned about.

Room Tip: The ocean front rooms are nicer but noisier and more expensive.

Just returned from a 3 day stay at the gordon, it was everything and more of my expectations. received a wonderful 1 st floor room with balcony overlooking the hustle and bustle and great sunsets. Room was spotless, everything worked perfect in the room. received complimentary breakfast. They give you a towel for the beach, reading material, dvd's etc. the staff was extremely polite and helpful with arrangements, travel and tips. the restaurant was outstanding. Busy nights it was packed and understand why. food and dessert were amazing. location is perfect across the street from the beach nice Gordon beach. Check in was quick and smooth. i have no complaints and will return here again.

Room Tip: get deluxe room w/Balcony

We stayed 4 days in Tel Aviv at the Gordon. The room was not too big but nicely set up and the hospitality was warm and helpful in every aspect. The deck for teh breakfast with sea view was lovely and the hotel is perfectly located to all Tel Aviv attractions and close to one of the nicest beaches of the city. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: we did not have the sea view room but enjoyed more quiet since the sea view rooms are on the road.

Nice hotel in perfect location. The hotel is housed in a nice Bauhas building. In the first floor, there is a nice restaurant with a big terrace, where breakfest is served in the morning. Otherwise it is open for lunch and dinner, but we did not try it. The breakfest is served, you have three choises, the Israeli breakfest is the best one. THe hotel has only few rooms, I think around 8. We stayed in the standart room. The room was quite small, but the bed was extremely comfy. Nice design, the room is devided from bathroom by a glass wall, but you can be hidded by pulling the curtain. And the location - simply unbeatable, right on the Gordon beach, not far away from Hilton beach. Staff was very nice, very polite and gave us very good recommendation for our stay. We travel to Tel Aviv quite often and I am sure we will return to this butique hotel.

We chose this hotel as we prefer the small boutique type places as opposed to the large chain hotels and this one is right up there with the best. location wise it couldn't be better, right on the beach but also just 5 mins from the marina area and 15 mins walk to the port area where there are lots of great restaurants bars & cafes. Just two blocks behind the hotel is Dizengoff street which is a lively street full of more restaurants, bars, boutiques & shops.
We stayed in room A1 so we had a sea view from the window but the balcony was to the side road, but this was okay as the main road at the front was very busy and noisy. The rooms are clean and bright and well equipped with a tv, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and a lovely rain shower, but best of all was the mood lighting system which was really good. Wouldn't want to pick out a particular member of staff as everyone was so kind, friendly and helpful.
The only negative about this hotel is the main road out the front (not much the hotel can do about that) which is very busy and noisy even at night but after a couple of nights we did get used to it.
Overall we would definately recommend this hotel for your visit to Tel Aviv.
