I am extremely happy with the whole experience st this hotel. Everyone was very nice room and nice service at the Hotem Gilga. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The hotel is centrally located to everything. Plenty of things to do in the vicinity. They also have a laundry room in one of the lower floors. Am a frequent traveler and would definitely come again.

The hotel is very comfortable with a great position-only a few steps to the closest beach and a city centre. The rooms are clean and well equipped. We really enjoyed breakfasts on the terrace that has a great view of the city.

Great location near to the beach. Hotel provides free towels at reception to use on the beach and there are always plenty of them.
Lovely warm welcome from Jonathan. Friendly and helpful service from Daniel on the front desk - nothing was too much trouble booking day trips, taxis evening meals and giving recommendations of places to go.
Hotel lobby is comfortable with free tea, coffee and cold water, with cold drinks available to buy.
We had 2 deluxe rooms. The rooms are clean and well equipped with all you need. Bed was bigger than our kingsize bed at home. Our 3 teenage boys shared a room which had 2 single beds and the third bed a pull out all of which were comfortable and large enough. There is a book in each room about the different places in Israel which was a really good read and these are available to buy if you want to bring a brand new one home. View out of bedroom windows is nothing to write home about.
12 midday checkout on the final day means you don't need to rush
Breakfasts are great, plenty of choice for all the family buffet style with warm and cold food, eggs, pasta, fish salads fresh fruit, cereals, bread, cakes, pastries, yogurt......and more! Breakfast dining room has a view of the beach but its not as good a view as the website pictures because of a couple of buildings which are currently under construction, but you can still see the beach and the sea. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 which is early enough if you're out on a day trip and late enough for a lie in if you're having a day on the beach.
Roof top terrace is pleasant, although guests are allowed to smoke up there
Hotel works with a tour company who will pick you up and drop you off right outside the hotel. These can be booked at reception the day before - we had some great day trips out to Galilee, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. And the hotel allow you to have an early breakfast if you're on a day trip
The only downside of the hotel for us was the fact that we booked half board and we didn't realise this meant that the hotel book you evening meals at restaurants near by - not ideal when you've been out on a 12 hour day trip. There were a couple of places we weren't keen on but having said that we were never asked to return to a place we didn't like and once we'd been there a few days ( and knew some of the restaurants ) we were given a choice. Cookiza around the corner was our favourite place to go. The evening meals is the reason why I gave 4 stars not 5

Hotel Gilgal offers the best breakfast. In three years I have not found anything come close to it. It's a lovely variety of carefully picked foods including hot and cold dishes, best shakshouka, best cheese cake and best coffee. It's served in the beautiful rooftop restaurant with sea view and sea breeze on the balcony and it has a very good atmosphere.
