Shoddy, run-down small room with bed that creaked. Bathroom window opened on to a storage room for matrasses. After one night we had to move to a room that was even worse, a mix-up with bookings. According to a list written in Hebrew next to the reception this was a cheaper room. However the receptionist said that according to new policy all the rooms were the same price. So why the list? He offered us a free cup of coffee.
Reasonable breakfast in the bistro underneath. There is a catch; you are served one roll and one hot drink. If you want more you have to pay for it. At the end of breakfast the waitress gave us a bill for no money. She had written on the bill, "service not included". Her income from "service" was her only wages.
On the surface people are very friendly, but they really see you as a chicken to be plukked
