The place is very nice, situated in front of the sea. That's the reason people get there. The service is a disaster, they seem to be only interested in talking among themselves. The food is OK, but not especially good, and you pay a high price for it, because of the location of the restaurant, and not for the food quality.

My friend had a birthday and she wanted the party to be here.
We came early with her, and were seated somewhere in the sun, although reserved before not in the sun.
After 15 minutes we found out the other half of the people are sitting in a different table from us, and nobody told them or us.
So, that's about the service. The Irish ice coffee wasn't with a lot of alcohol, neither the frozen Margarita.
I will not come again, since there is nothing special in the place, except of the view, and that you can get anywhere in the port.

Following a pretty much positive previous experience, I took a couple of foreign friends to "Shalvata", and came out disappointed.
After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes for the menus, and another 15 minutes until a waiter approached us. The waiter's English was problematic, and I had to help translating. It also appeared to us that some menu items are actually missing (though it was peak hour on Friday night). The pricing is pretty much outrageous, as everywhere in the Tel-Aviv port these days, and they don't serve beer in pints, but rather only in 330ml glasses (for the price of a pint, and more).
Eventually we didn't feel like we ate much, and the final bill approached 400 shekels... They once were much better than this!

I love this place, a local in Israel- I try to eat here as much as possible. It's perfect for a sunny weekend morning. just stroll the harbor of Tel Aviv untill it's too hot and then find a seat. Kids can play in the sandy area and it serves great food. In the evening the bar is great and there's just enough breeze to forget about the heat for a while.
Warning- the staff can be a bit over hectic- they def. have alot on their plate.
