“Very good dining experience in Tel Aviv”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

Restaurant Shila is known as one of the best restaurants in Tel Aviv. Based on the meal we had there, we can't but whole heartedly agree.

We visited restaurant Shila on a Sunday night, which is supposed to be to most quiet night of the day. We arrived at 19.00pm (which is very early by Israeli standards) and soon the place was completely packed full...not bad going for a quiet night!

When we visited Shila, we tried the following dishes:
- Warm Focaccia with Rosemary oil/ Bread Basket (8/10)
- Broccomini in a white butter sauce with crabmeat (7/10)
- Fresh calamari (7.5/10)
- Scallops in white butter sauce and Porchini mushrooms (8.5/10)
- Tel-Aviv mix of fish and onions on tzatziki - Palamida fish, onions, and spices (8/10)
- Gnocchi in a white butter sauce with crab meat, Coquille St. Jacques and Crystal shrimp (9/10)
- Seafood risotto with bacon, green beans and a trio of coquilles st. Jacques (7.5/10)
- Black pasta with mussels and calamari in a sage sauce (7/10)
- Cheesecake (8/10)
- Tahini Panna Cotta with Black cherry sorbet and sesame nougat sharon's marquis (8/10)

The cooking at Shila very good even by London or NYC standards. Particularly the sauces that go with the dishes are extremely good and make many of the dishes shine even more brightly. They also offer many good wines by the glass or bottle and offer a good cocktail list. In addition the service is excellent.

Shila is not cheap, but given the quality of cooking, I have no trouble in recommending it if you're looking for somewhere special to eat on a night out.

“good restobar in tel aviv”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2012

enjoyed the food very much. The restaurant looks very casual, but the food is like in a chef restaurant. The pricing is fair and you have good return for the money. some problem with the parking, but there is a Valet service.
