If kosher is a necessity for you, you can't go wrong at Gabriel where the food is excellent and the setting is elegant and subdued. Located on what has become Jerusalem's Restaurant Row, it is one of the best.

Excellent restaurant in Jerusalem. Took some overseas customers who had just arrived from japan with an "anything but sushi" request.
Service was excellent
the food was exquisite
the wine excellent,
atmosphere a quiet oasis in the usually noisy Israeli restaurant scene
A little on the expensive side but well worth it

Wanted to take family out for a divine food experience and am always happy to pay the price. Ambience and service were good but the food was horrible and overpriced. I have owned restaurants for 20 years, basic, regular and gourmet. The entree of boring tasteless breadrolls (when Israel has the finest bakeries) with OK tiny array of dips was already a worry The chicken dish was so dry with no taste whatsoever and minimal uninterseting sauce...basic presentation. The fish was unedible and I sent it back....the ribs were apparently nothing special said by our unfussy guest and the meat was totally undercooked and raw when requested medium to welldone. I was embaressed and horrified especially when I got the bill. The dessert was nice but nothing overly impressive. The bill was big. I really did not enjoy the food one bit....I hope the chef was sick and this is why otherwise these people need to improve their game bigtime.

Another average place in Jerusalem. The restaurant looks nice and has a cozy atmosphere but the waiter was a bit forgetfull. Though to be fair the service overall was quite good. The food ain't bad either but it's too expensive. A pasta is a very basic dish and should not cost what other places charge for a sirloin stake or salmon. I would have rated this restaurant a lot better if prices would have been 20-25% lower.
