“King Herod Place of Safety”

Herodyon National Park
Reviewed November 24, 2012

This is the place where King Herod took safety from his enemies. Even though King Herod was a mad man, this place is an architecture wonderland. A must visit to appreciate history and architecture genius designs.

Fascinting site with much of its ancient glory still present with underground tunnels, water cisterns and other amazing things. The views of the desert are spectacular

This place is well worth a taxi ride from Bethlehem to explore the history of Herod. Also to get great panoramic views of the West Bank as far as the Dead Sea. Some steep walking and 27 shekels entry - be warned
