“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

This is a lovely place to stay on a quiet street in Jerusalem, and it is within walking distance of the Old City. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The management is gracious, and the service is excellent. The food is also very good. The musicians who play in the lobby set a wonderul atmosphere.

I stayed here several nights for business. The hotel is basic but clean, has a great rooftop view/lounge area, a small bar, and a nice daily Israeli breakfast. The beds are ok--small and not very comfortable. In one room I had trouble sleeping b/c the TV hanging on the wall had a blue light shining all night which I had to cover w/ a towel. This hotel is a great location to the Old City, as well as other areas in Jerusalem. I tried to use the computers in the business center but there was no USB to print some files....and it was also in Hebrew...given I was in a hurry I didn't try to figure out how to print my files. The bartender was nice and the little bar stayed open until around 11AM. Staff were nice and the free wifi in the lobby worked reasonably well, too. If you want a basic hotel in a good location, this is a good choice. The King David hotel is nearby but probably at least double the price...

This charming hotel, located on one of the loveliest streets in Jerusalem, is where I've been staying for many years. Thanks to the great leadership of Eliran, the manager, the service is always pleasant; the rooms are not luxurious, but everything is clean and comfortable, and there are lovely views. The rooftop is a terrific place to unwind after a day of walking. In the dining room there is a pianist who provides wonderful mixes of jazz and classical. Location is ideal: 10 minutes walk to Emek Refaim, 15 minutes walk to the center of town, 5 minutes from the King David Hotel and YMCA, and 8 minutes walk to the new and fantastic Old Train Station, which has been converted into a truly unique mall with classy restaurants, merchants, and a bike/jogging path. Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: take the minisuite for a little extra space...

The location was really perfect for me - not to far from Mamila Mall and the Jaffa Gate into the Old City, and I walked through well-lit streets to get there, feeling quite safe. The room was basic but adequate, except that there small flies in my bathroom throughout my stay and the shower curtain was useless, so I flooded the bathroom every time I had a shower. The lobby has live music at night and at breakfast and the food is adequate, a standard breakfast buffet.

Apart from the lovely maid I spoke to one morning, the staff generally seemed uninterested in guests and were not particularly friendly. They weren't particularly rude or difficult to deal with, but like at the
Prima TLV, you feel you're being a nuisance by asking for any help. The staff at the door at night are friendly when they let you in, however.

This is a reasonably priced hotel with all the basic facilities and in easy reach of all the main sites. Breakfast has a good variety but try to go before or after any group. Rooms clean, although service can vary day to day. Some good restaurants just down the road.

A nice hotel but a little tired. I was sharing with a girlfriend so I booked a junior suite thinking we would have a little more space but the room was small and very dark. When I complained they were very helpful and tried to please us by showing us a couple of other suites but all were the same size and the only thing that differed was the floor. We chose one which was on the top floor had a queen bed but they changed it for us and gave us twins. That was impressive!
The towels looked like they had passed their "use by date"; the sheets had some stains and looked tired too. The carpets were in need of a wash.
We enjoyed the variety, quality and choice of breakfast. Everything was fresh. We thought the food was excellent!
We had free wifi through out the hotel and free parking.
The room cleaning was not very thorough. They did not vacuum the suite once in the 7 days we were there and they failed to dust most furnishings.
The air condition was not working properly. We could only use it on "full blast" setting or nothing.
We advised the desk. they sent someone up who did not speak English well enough to understand the problem, so he showed us that it was working and left.
The staff were very polite, but their aim was to appease you and not really to help you. There was a front desk young lady, who was outstanding! Her name was Jasmin A. She was the person who got us a new room, booked our taxis, answered our many questions about getting around and was genuine about wanting to assist us. Most of the others at the front desk, even though they were polite they did not go out of their way to help.
