“Great Experience at the Grand Court”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

We had a great experience at the Grand Court Hotel. It is a large and very lovely hotel with comfortable rooms, and enjoyable breakfasts. There were many items to choose from for breakfast including hearth baked bagels and bread, salds, made to order omelets, yogurt, pastry, juices and coffee to name a few items! The room was clean and the staff very helpful. In addition, it was near the light rail so we could get everywhere by that mode of transportation! It had a beautiful pool and a small workout facility. There was WiFi throughout the hotel although it worked much better in the lobby than in the room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near to the elevator if you don't want to walk too far to get to your room.

Taking into consideration that the hotel is situated near the light train gives one the opportunity to leave the car in the hotel and to enjoy walking and touring the city.
The breakfast is very reach and tasty. The pool is small but ok.
The rooms opposit the main road are a bit noisy but after a long day one can manage.

Room was small but comfortable and clean, good food and good location, one can get public transport nearby and visit old city area on foot. The reception lounge is not very big but still comfortable. Good hotel if one is in Jerusalem to see places and not to stick to room.

Will keep this short and sweet.
Problems: Pool is very deceptive on pictures, it is tiny & has 4 deck chairs for 400+ guests it can facilitate for - the rest are white plastic chairs around the pool. Pool closes at 6pm - not ideal if you've been out all day and want to go in pool afterwards!
Staff are terrible, don't care and when asked to speak to a manager they wouldn't come out and see us! I believe it was babaa on the desk who was horrendously unhelpful throughout our stay.

Went down just before midnight to get a drink, bar was closed, room service was finished and the only suggestion was to go outside down the road to get a drink! I only wanted a bottle of water!!

Parking is a nightmare, once all the spaces are gone (which is very likely) then that's it.

Wifi doesn't work, spoke to a tour guide who frequents the hotel with his large groups and said ever since he's been coming here they have had issues with wifi, when we called down they kept saying they were working on it.

Only positive was that the bed was comfortable. This as stated in previous reviews is a FACTORY for large groups, customer service is non existent and no interaction from any of the staff.

Never again

We paid a very low promotional rate in the Pessach holiday and were surprised to see that the hotel was exceeded our expectations.
The rooms are not fancy but clean and efficient, breakfast was good and the location is not in the city centre but 3 minutes walk to the new Tram service which connect you to city centre within 10 minutes.
For the price we've paid we were very satisfied.

This hotel is in a good location- close to transportation, easy walk to old city, and on a relatively quiet street. The hotel is clean and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are on the small size and the decor was a little out of date. The pool is refreshing, but small and the area can get very crowded. The pool closes around six. The food is average, but we found the service to be very good. They do not have an ATM, but the hotel next door has one. I would try to get a room in the middle of the hotel closer to the elevators. Our room was at the end of the hall and it was a bit of a walk. it was quiet and it was on the fourth floor which is the lobby floor and only two floors above the dining room which is nice if you are there on the Sabbath. Our air conditioning was ok, but friends had problems with their air and it took two days to fix and only after insisting that it be fixed or that they needed to be moved. Overall, we found the hotel to be clean, comfortable, and convenient.

Large, comfortable hotel outside the old city.
Within easy walking distance of the Damascus Gate into the old City.
The dimensions of the hotel and the efficient management cope successfully with a high volume of tour groups as well as individual private travellers,
Good, extensive buffet style food presentation for breakfast and dinner.
Pool is a bonus.
Extensive reception area.
