Our family of 5 stayed at Allenby for 3 nights and we were pleased with the price, location, and cleanliness. The owner operator was super helpful and friendly, even going so far as to arrange transportation for us back to the border on our final morning (much more afforadably than we otherwise would have). If you're looking for luxury, this isn't going to do it. The rooms are tight- especially if you have big luggage, and the bathrooms were especially "cozy". That said, they were private in each of the rooms we booked. The good news is that we and each of our 3 kids (ages 11 - 15) had their own beds and we didn't break the bank staying in a clean and safe place. A DEFINITE recommend especially if traveling with family. PS- Solid but simple breakfast fare was prepared each morning.

I just spent 3 wonderful weeks in Jerusalem and staying with #2 Allenby and their owner Danny Flax made the entire journey even that much better. I was able to get one of the few studio apartments with great wifi, air con, kitchen, private bathroom excellent cable and an amazing price per night. Breakfast was included each morning and a good time to meet the other guests. The location of the apartment on the same block as the Jerusalem Central Bus Station was very convenient as well as having the light tram there too. A great place for a great stay. I will be back again.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the apartments, as they are available at different times.

This is a great place to stay when you go to Jerusalem. It is well located, near the central bus station and the main rapid transit line into e downtown area. We were here for 6 nights and loved it. Near good restaurants and shopping, and very easy to get to the Old City and all of the historical sights to explore at your leisure. We really enjoyed the cameraderie that seemed to be always part of the experience, even with a turnover of guests! Danny is a great host...full of fun and good ideas, quick to assist with organizing tours or helping us plan our own. It was great to have 24hr access to the kitchen for making snacks or even a full dinner if we wanted. On more than one night several guests pooled their kitchen goodies to make a pot luck dinner! Make sure to plan your time round Shabbat....the stores, transit and restaurants all close down by 3pm Friday and do not reopen until 8pm Saturday so shop for your food early. Occasionally if may be possible to arrange to spend Shabbat with a family....check with Danny if you are interested.

Room Tip: Rooms are small, but you tend to spend time in the common rooms anyway.

Allenby Bed and Breakfast is a very nice and warm place not far from the center of Jerusalem. The services are excellent, the place is very clean and the owner of the hostel a very friendly person with a personal approach to his visitors. I can fully recommend this place to everybody.

We stayed at this place for about a week, combining Jerusalem with a tour to the Westbank.

The B&B is located close to the central bus station, making it easy to reach if you arrive in Jerusalem by bus. The owner emailed us a detailed description on how to get there, so finding the place was really easy.

The owner (Dan) really made us feel welcome. He's friendly, helps you to plan your stay and has suggestions on what to do etcetera. Consider him as one of the major pluses of this place.

The rooms were ok. We stayed in a double room (apartment) with private bathroom, tv, airco and a small kitchen. From your window, you see Jaffa Street. It also had free wifi with good speed. Not unimportant. ;-) As the room was not in the B&B itself, but on a one minute walk, we had small stores, a super market and public transport right under our noses. Really nice!

We do have a suggestion regarding the room. An overall update wouldn't hurt it; towels are clean but old, the bed a little hard as the matrasses are used and the kitchen is ok, but just looks outdated. Same goes for the bathroom. I do have to say that none of these points really bothered me during my stay.

To finish with another good point. We had out laundry done for free and were also not asked to pay for the breakfast. Really nice! I would definitely reconsider this place if I were to visit Jerusalem again.

This is my 4th stay at Allenby B & B! Whenever I'll come back to Jerusalem - hopefully next summer - I'll come back there. I've been to other places in Jerusalem (or elsewhere in the world, mind you), but nowhere have a found such a perfect "formula" between confort, originality and warmth.

The opportunity for sharing kiddush light meal on erv-shabbat is also a wonderful moment, whoever you are. Guests met there, just like people working there are friendly and respectful so you feel at home and you have your freedom.

It's located to the Central Bus Station so you're close to any transport you're looking for.

This is only the second review I have written but feel compelled to write. Allenby 2 offers a simple, but clean and safe place to stay with breakfast and a kitchen for general use. Most importantly the owner, Dany Flax, actually cares about his guests and is authentically available for any care or need. In a very expensive city, no place comes close to his very affordable prices. I also loved the location (behind the central bus station and a short walk to the city train with supermarkets nearby and yet in a quiet neighborhood). It's a nice, friendly and quiet place and a great place to meet people. Not a party atmosphere if that is what you're after. As I mentioned the rooms are pretty simple, vary in size and price but have heat, a/c and cable TV. I gave a 5 on the rooms based on price. I stayed in one of the small apartments Dany rents off site as well as the B&B and enjoyed both. My favorite place to stay in Israel.
