“OK Place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2008

We just have spent 2 nights at The Little House in the Colony. Reception and almost all rooms are up 3 steep flights of stairs; no elevator. Reception and hallways are not carpeted so noise might well be a problem if hotel is busy. Our room was tiny, which we disliked; barely enough room for 2 people, and our luggage. Our room suffered from rock and roll noise from adjacent family suite. Free wireless internet, which we liked a lot.

There is a small cinema adjacent but we had no issues with it. Hotel breakfast was OK; nothing special. Hotel is about 20-30 minutes walk on level surface from Cinematique, Old City, etc. Emek Refraim Street is very close by and has many good restaurants and shops. Cabs are easily available on it.

We paid $100 per night which is about right for this kind of place.

I stayed here 4 nights on a Wednesday through Saturday. Overall I liked it. The place is brand new. It is a GUEST HOUSE style hotel. This means not every room is the same like inn big hotels. Some rooms are shaped different, some have tiny bathroom, others have nice garden view, and so on. I paid only $65 for their interior "single guy" room. Where the window goes to an air-well and this was fine with me. All the other rooms have windows to outside. What they still need are rugs in the hallways to cover the hardwood floors.
Note that there is a movie theater with dinner restaurant next door that plays independent films at night and one can hear parts of them. I turned the fan on to block out that sound and was fine. If I had to choose, I would still, because it was on a beautiful alley off Emek Rafa'im street.
They have a nice patio with good breakfast breakfast. I found the people to be very friendly. There is an Internet cafe and laundry nearby. They even had staff there on Friday night and Saturday during Sabbath. The front desk is attended 24/7 which is exceptional for a guest house. There is a gate and security camera too.
My room was cleaned every day, but one thing I would suggest to the hotel is to have someone with a checklist inspect the rooms every day after cleaning. Who ever cleans always forgot one thing or another, like make bed half way, or clean sink but not toilet, or sweep dust into pile but not come back for it, or wipe tile grout but not use a brush. It should be the management that calls the cleaners to come back, not the guest.
Again overall, I'd stay there again because of the staff and location, plus I prefer guest house style lodging to big hotels.

I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights ( i had to leave because of the awful quality).
the room is normal size, the restroom are that tiny you can t even close the door when you re inside... the bed is very uncomfortable.
the hostel is located next to a movie theater...at night, you can hear and feel any noise from any movie playing.
the price is $ 100!!!!!! oh my god..you can get MUCH BETTER for this amount.
i also happen to have forgotten my jacket overthere and called them on the next day to ask if they found it: they said they did.But when i came back 2 days later they told me they had threw it away...
Instead of apologising and trying to find a solution to calm me down..they kept on repeating it s not our fault, those kind of things happen...
I ve asked to be reimbursed but the owner Oded Niv kept on telling me that his workers told him it was a very bad quality jacket and he had no intention to reimburse anything.( it was a great velvet armani jacket!!)
As of today i m suing them and i m expecting expect to get a full reimbursement.
I trully don t recommend anyone to go there!

Originally the guest seemed to be quite satisfied with the hotel, because he extended his reservation for one extra night.
I am a bit surprised from this comment. The Guest claims that we have lost his jacket, even though the hotel is not responsible for the guests' belongings that have been left in the hotel ,we have decided to pay him a reasonable compensation for the jacket.

I stayed in this hotel with my three kids in the new apartments. They were spacious and spotless and they serve a good breakfast in the morning. It is in a great position near food stores, restaurants, public transport and shops. The front apartments are on the main road and are a bit noisy so ask for one at the back. The restaurant down stairs is also fine and they also have music some nights. Definitely great for the price
