Owner description: Come rediscover Biblical Jerusalem! Located just outside the Old City walls, the City of David is in fact the historical Old City of Jerusalem, containing archeological remnants going back 4,000 years. Come see for yourself where it all began...

To walk below the ancient city of Jerusalem is just too cool! Make sure to take the official tour- it's not too long and it's so informative.

This was one of the great surprises of our travel experience. We had a great guide and she was a wealth of information. The layers of history were impressive to see as well as the history that we learned while traveling through time. A must see.

If you can walk at least a mile, don't miss this amazing tour. This is ancient history experienced at it's best. You get to see the original, ancient city of Jerusalem and how they protected their water source with these water tunnels. The guides are greatly knowledgable and add a lot to your experience. You can do the tour without walking through the water tunnel (Hezekiah's tunnel), but if you're going there, don't miss this unique experience. You are walking through a tunnel that was hand-carved, and it is so cool! Just wear shorts or roll up your pants legs and wear crocs (available in the market) or wear water shoes. You will dry out quickly. You can book tickets online at http://www.cityofdavid.org.il/ before you go (we did), or you can buy tickets on site. Be sure to pay attention that you are booking an English tour, unless you do speak Hebrew. This was tiring, but it was definitely a highlight for us and an experience of a lifetime. Also, we aware here that if you are renting a locker, you need a 10 shekel piece for the locker.

get a guide to show you the tremendous history that unfolds before you. The archeologists have done a fabulous job in laying it all out for you, but a guide is a good idea

A must when you visit the City of David. Not for people who are not in fair shape. If you can, do the tunnels with water, make sure you carry a small towel to dry your feet when it is over.
