Owner description: Come rediscover Biblical Jerusalem! Located just outside the Old City walls, the City of David is in fact the historical Old City of Jerusalem, containing archeological remnants going back 4,000 years. Come see for yourself where it all began...

Lots of steps but luckily mostly downhill. Going through the Warren tunnel there is a ride available back to the hilltop for about $1 (US) definitely worth it just to see the Palestinian area as you are in the kidron Valley dividing line at this point.

Bring a flashlight, roll up your pants and imagine being one of King Hezakiah's stone carvers trying to carve their way to a meeting point in the middle of a mountain. The Biblical reference is 2 Chronicles 32:30.
The tunnels are in the archaeological park of The City of David, just South of the Old City and the Temple Mount.

If Hezekiah could do this almost 6000 years ago (starting a tunnel from two ends and still meeting in the middle) why with all our modern technology to we make such a mess of things.

Considering this was an engineering feat that was accomplished 2700 years ago by two groups of men starting at opposite ends and digging a tunnel to find a common meeting point...amazing! If you have claustrophobia or a fear of the dark...don't go!
