Attraction details
Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: In the heart of Jerusalem, the First Station is a major center of entertainment, culture and culinary delights. The complex is accessible and open to the general public - both local Jerusalemites and tourists, and is a lively focus of activities, with something to offer for a variety of wishes and needs, on the go almost all hours of the day, every day of the week. The Station's location in the city's downtown tourist and culture area makes it a bridge between neighborhoods and communities, and the first station for any visit or night out in the heart of Jerusalem.

“JERUSALEM FIRST STATION”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

Jerusalem First Station has just opened up as a tourist attraction in the centre of Jerusalem. After just visiting, I was really disappointed. I visited the old station a couple of years ago and it was old and derelict, but a piece of history. Now, it is a complex with restaurants, a market and play areas for children - all over priced. There is very little sign of it actually being an old railway station with just a metre or two of old railway track exposed, which is surrounded by flowers. There are also some information boards with history stories. on. I went on the day the Chik Chik Chak Market was supposed to be on. It was supposed to start at 4pm until 10pm. Howeve, by 4.40pm, only two of the stalls were open. The only good point about this place is a little area with photo viewers which is highly ingenious and very different from what you see in these sort of places.

For me, this was a complete waste of a couple of hours. If you want to see an old railway station, which has been converted, go to Neve Tzedek in Tel Aviv which may be a modern complex now but at least there is still lots of railway evidence around and also railway-related activities. I would really prefer to see old railway stations left as such as a piece of history and opened up as a museum so that the public can see what the buildings really were for.

“Old Train Station, New Entertainment Center, Green Strip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

The old, renovated station houses eateries, shops and a place that rents out bicycles. There are several shops in the area in front of the building. Cultural events are organized 7 days a week. The site is connected to a green strip/park where children safely run on one path and bikers ride on a separate path, enjoy the green and the architecture of adjacent houses.

“What was needed in Jerusalem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Jerusalem offers something for everyone. For those who need fun on Friday night in the new city the first station is the solution. The old station lives back, and although trains arrive no more, is full of good restaurants, activities and businesses. up to bikes for rent...A good solution for those that live the shabbat...

“The new hottest scene in Jerusalem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2013

Jerusalem's old train station become the new face of the city, it combines both the old and new of Jerusalem and located in the best spot you can imagine. Highly recommended for families with kids, as they can run loose without worries, and for the romanticist among you :)
