Our family was a group of 20 visiting Israeli for my son's bar mitzvah. Atalya is a unique culinary experience -- taking place not at a traditional restaurant but rather at the home of chef Atalya. Atalya is an amazing young chef -- each course was more special than the last. She was very accomodating for those with food allergies, able to adjust her menu accordingly. This was a super special experience that is very different than 'just going out to dinner.' Not to be missed.

There are some gifted people, that were born to their profession. this is the case of beautiful Atalya Ein Mor, that is a natural cook. since she was 9 years old, she wore an apron and made big meals for 15 people. her passion to create with food, is similar to an artist.that uses his tools, as a way of telling his dreams, and a must to survive. leaving his personal fingerprint to the world, living his ambitions.
And all this prologue, was to praise the best brunch I tasted in Atalya house. Under the title-F.A.T-food. art. Vacation, as this house in legendary Ein Kerem, in Jerusalem, gives you a taste of many things, that can be called ambiance. The stone house,on a small hill, from the beginning of the 20 century,is full of art pieces, collected from all over the world, and some of the best Israeli painters are "hanged".the view is the famous churches of this holy neighborhood, the forests and orchards around and Judea mountains.
The brunch that Atalya serves to maximum 12 people,is an opportunity to mingle also with locals. you can come as a couple and meet other guests, get together over a rich buffet. that includes salty and sweet side.both are home made and Atalya doesn’t compromise on the quality.
We tasted the best techina, surprising omelettes, lettuce and fruit salad, wheat salad, variety of top cheeses, coriander pesto, fresh baked rolls, Balkan cheese biscuits, eggplant salad in argan oil, lovely olives, two kinds of crispy quiches and more.Atalya explains the story of her family and of that special village.
Don’t forget to call and reserve a place, the earliear is better.even by mail, from abroad. The feeling is at home, so it must be special to any visitor. The tastes are a blend of the season and Atalya fervor curious mind. BETEAVON. Come hungry to this experience, and don’t forget to smile after tasting the special muffins, homemade jams, British scones with cream and mashed strawberries ,and discover yourself the rest.

Atalya is an adorable and delightful person who warmly welcomes you into her home, charms you with her personality and blows you away with her cooking. A veteran of several top restaurants, Atalya has a keen sense of flavor and an imaginative way of blending and sequencing them. Portions are big and sharing is encouraged. There is something on the table for everyone.

Nestled on a hillside in Ein Kerem, you are treated to a sumptuous meal in the home she grew up in. Everything is fresh and farm-to-table, the menus are varied and include an array of Middle Eastern appetizers, foccacia freshly baked from the oven and array of vegetables prepared several different ways plus several roasted meats. Dessert is a surprise and a delight.

The pacing is gentle and focused on her guests. She invites you into the kitchen to chat, and answers questions about the food, the preparation or about herself easily and informatively.
Being with Atalya is a triple delight; the food is delicious, she is delicious and you walk away with a new friend in Jerusalem.
