It is easy to not see this small restaurant. It is also easy to ignore it, because it is in a wonderfully busy and loud "shuk" (Mechaneh Yehuda) in Jerusalem. And you may be turned off at first by someone inviting you in, which some people do not find inviting. But please read on because this is about slow cooked food. And for those who know what this means, they also know that this is all about taste. Slow cooking is a rarity in Israel where everyone is in a hurry. Here, the recipes are typical mizrahi (eastern) and Jerushalmi (authentic Jerusalem style). Do not expect a menu, the pots and pans are the menu and you are free to check out what under the lids. This is "mama's" cooking, only better. This is not about luxury dining. This is about the best food for the value in one of the best "shuks" in the world. Run and make sure you arrive hungry.
