an area overlooking the Old Walls of the City, this was the very first neighbourhood built outside of the Old CIty. Nice buildings, the Windmill and a nice official guesthouse there.

this was the first neighborhood established outside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem. It is now home to artists and galleries. Yemin Moshe is combined with this neighborhood, and makes a beautiful place to walk. Go there on Shabbat (Saturday) when most places are closed, and enjoy a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem. Watch for exotic looking birds, fountains, and weddings!

This area is really so beautiful, with lovely gardens and views. However, what really makes it special is that it was the first Jewish neighborhood built outside the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. It's hard to realize that the Old City was actually walled and that this area was seen as "outside" the city - a concept that sounds pretty foreign nowadays. So amongst all the beauty, there is also an amazing history. Definitely check it out!

This neighbourhood is a great place for an easy stroll in the evening, with the dim street lights providing a romantic atmosphere and the old city ramparts visible just beyond the valley. You can end this stroll in the nearby city center or Emeq Refaim street for a good dinner. And don't miss the windmill at the edge of the neighbourhood!
