Owner description: The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, also called the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, or the Church of the Resurrection by Eastern Christians, is a church within the Christian Quarter of the walled Old City of Jerusalem. It is a few steps away from the Muristan. The site is venerated as Golgotha (the Hill of Calvary), where Jesus was crucified, and is said also to contain the place where Jesus was buried (the Sepulchre). A trend among visitors to the spot (standing outside the Church) is to applaud loudly during the ringing of bells. This is to recognize the unique beauty of the Church and its unique history.

“:(”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Very disappointing. You would expect some spirituality around there. You may find only tourists with cameras. :(

“If you can make it make go to Israel for a day”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

This is worth a visit all by itself, but getting into Israel will take nearly 3hours at immigration and customs. The church of the Holy Sepulchre is truly amazing and administered by 5 christian religions. If you are a believer this place will completely uplift your spirits. As they say at Nike, just do it.

“A Holy of Holy Sites”
Reviewed April 12, 2012

Christ's Tomb, otherwise known as the Holy Sepulchre, is one of the holiest, if not the holiest site of Christendom. On our second visit to Jerusalem we finally were able to visit the tomb thanks to a badly sprained ankle and walking stick which permitted us to avoid the lengthy line. A moving experience to say the least and a must for all who visit Jerusalem.
